Super Jet At a loss...trying to get running before the season ends

No...I took the back plug off and put it against the head and saw spark on the plug. But I haven't deduced it that far to know if I'm always getting spark. It seems I'm chasing an electrical problem.

Confirm plugs are sparking, not just that current is going through wire.

McDog is right. I have an adjustable air gap ignition tester that you can get at Advanced Auto or AutoZone that will show you the true output of any ignition for less than $10. And it's great for troubleshooting a bad cap/rotor, wires, plugs, and coil if you have an older truck like myself....

I actually just used it a couple of weeks ago to help show a friend that had picked up a fixer up 69 Mustang that the original points distributor/ignition system was the reason he couldn't get it running. He could see spark on the plugs but didn't realize it was most likely being snuffed out under compression.

Give it a shot. It's a good tool to have in the toolbox...

Compression is 150/150. Haven't leaked down yet or pulled the flywheel though.

Internal filter looked brand new

No, I wasn't paying attention to that at all. What does that mean?

Alright. With no broken down cars to fix tomorrow at 4pm CLE time I have tll 10pm to run through stuff thanks to electric lighting lol. So what should I look at first? test stator coils right? does anyone have a diagraph of what is what? I bet I could find it in the sh*tty SN manual, but damn do I want to ride my jetworks motor NOW knowing my 650 is fine lol.

If anyone has diagrams of the 6m6 stator, I love ya. I have the readings they should be thanks to x tech facts. I'm not running my dream motor till my 650 runs right lol.

I have all the info I need except whats what on the stators.. I could use some guidance. Tomorrow is about taking my electronics and running some meter reading.

6m6 and 61x stators read the same right? I think its the stator is going bad. Numbers are jumping all over. This would also explain why my battery kept dying leading up to this.

Not sure if this was discussed above already but, I literally just walked out of the garage and fixed the exact problem on my kdx. I've actually had this exact problem a couple years ago and once earlier this summer. All three cases it was the same issue. If you take the start stop switch apart and then take the lanyard kill switch apart, you will see two sliding contact points. Mine had just a VERY SLIGHT bit of corrosion built up at the contact point. A little sand paper and I instantly had spark back. Ask me how many wasted hours and torn apart e-boxes and stators it took to figure this issue out over the course of a few years...

I have a stator on the way. If it's not that I'll have to go start/stop next, which I hope it isn't because it's a season old! Maybe I'll even have a back up battery too! Hey, a guy can dream

I pulled apart the ebox today, awaiting the new stator I thought I'd get ready and clean it up. Well it's been soaked. Anything in there could be bad, I'm guessing. I'm gonna try to test with the multi as much as I can.

Rained for days and couldn't get anything done. Put the stator in today and same thing. Borrowed a voltage rectifier-regulator from a friend and no change. Had two things left I could swap, a coil and a known bad cdi. I through the bad cdi in and it fired RIGHT up.

I'm pretty pissed seeing as this new cdi was less than a year old. Cheap ebay crap.

Twice now in my jet ski career I've been stumped for weeks on end and had to make help threads. Both times it was a bad cdi and each time the symptoms were completely different. Go figure.

Thanks for the help guys

Was it an oem cdi that was bad?

I am trying to get a picture uploaded but it's being a pain in my @ss right now.

This cdi has a purple wire for the pink and the brown and white is just brown. The backside where the circuit board pieces stick out is completely covered with a black soft rubber. I don't think it was oem. I'll get a picture linked asap
