Just bought a B pipe off Melmack and OMG does this thing RIP! Im fairly new to the stand up scene but if anyone was ever thinking about getting a pipe, you wont be disappointed. This pipe just wakes the ski up and its reall snappy. After a little carb adjustment I couldn't be happier. Again, its SO WORTH THE MONEY.
BTW, Melmack was great to deal with if anyone buys from him in the future.

x2 of what Dirk said. Also, if you're running the stock pump, you would benifit alot from an MSD enhancer, or a modified rev limit CDI. My FX-1 just bounced off the rev limiter like crazy when I installed the pipe.

What are the benefits to jetting if the plugs dont lie? There either rich, good or lean right or am I missing something? It ended up being instead of 2 turns out its now 3 and on the bottom its like half a turn out more. I called blowsion and ask what their opinion was and he said if its running good and the plugs arn't showing lean then its good. Where would I look to buy the jets and spring? I look at factorys site and they state its for an aftermarket arrester what there recomending, everything else on my ski is stock.
As far as the pop off, I have no idea what or how to check that. I did some researching on here but didnt yeld anything great.
I also didnt notice it bouncing off the limiter, it felt more like cavitation to me.

what do you need to do to make sure this is correct??? I have a riva dry type pipe which i just installed but my ski runs fine with no adjustment. I have only rode it 2 times and don't want to keep riding it if it is going to get damaged from not buying the proper parts. I am also running AMS synthetic oil. Let me know what you think.

Someone can correct me, but at 2 turns and beyond there is no adjustment. You need to have it set so you are someone between 1/4-1/2 to 1 1/4 turns out. You need to have some adjustment range left to account for changes in atmospheric pressure, temperatures, etc.

how much louder than stock would you say?

If you're asking me about the rev limit, then there is no risk of damage by hitting the limit, its there to keep you from damaging anything. The problem on a stock pump FX-1 with a pipe that I ran into was that I hit the rev limit while in the water. A 61X CDI is set to limit at some low rpm like 6400 or something.

If you're not hitting the rev limit right now, don't worry about it you're fine.

thanks

Low screw only adjusts 0-10% of throttle pull. High screw only adjusts from 90% of throttle and up. Low jet, popoff pressure, High jet is everything in between. So basically you might be missing out on better performance in the 10-90% throttle range.

And to address KR's post about you being ok as long as you're having fun, I can tell you from experience that a ski will run great right before it seizes from a lean condition. You're probably ok but you should jet it to FPPs recommendations imho.

Its the FX chamber. The ski is a little bit louder but it sounds great. Where do you buy jets / springs at. My local dealers are nice but only for basic things.

How hard was the installation? Did yoou have to pull the motor to get it in? And how difficult is tuning, I don't have any tuning experience

You don't have to pull the motor, only the gas tank. Tuning is nothing. On mine I followed FPPs recommendations on jets, popoff, and screws and the thing was tuned perfectly, I didn't even have to adjust my screws at all. On the pipe, I have the top and middle screw closed and the bottom out a half turn. The pipe doesn't even sizzle at that setup for me, so I could probably close the bottom even more.

It was a bit tough for me to install it. I took my time and made sure everything was right before in tightend it up. Tshank, do you have the stock carbs? Im getting some jets orderd and a pop off guage, Ive never used one so we'll see how it goes...

I have the stock 44 carb (singular). What popoff guage did you order? Mine only goes up to 30psi and if memory serves they have you set it at 39psi. I just stuck the spring in there that they suggest and ran it.
