Finished up for the most part on the cases, will be revisiting it once the sleeves are out.
I went just far enough to see the epoxy in about a 1mm patch on the sides. No epoxy exposed up top. Once I get my rough cuts I like to run the air dye grinder with the regulator set real slow to clean up any bite marks. Ports are matched to the sleeves and I’ll be throwing this sucker in the grill shortly.

had to go with the super light flywheel as if I’m not the one holding the ski back even with a smaller power plant :)
Getting there though.
Cyls are at the shop. Bottoms being cut .050 then I’ll sleeve them and have the top cut .005.

Got the SB together.
.055 off the bottom, .005 off the top to clean it up for that o ring head. Ring gap at .016.
Domes were SUPPOSED to be cut to accommodate the .030 piston poke above deck but the machinist managed to double the number I gave him so unfortunately daddy will now have .068” squish clearance instead of my desired .032”. On 35cc domes +1mm over I’m assuming I’ll be around 180psi with this hiccup. Not optimal but I’m out of time and I’ll have to have new domes cut later. Bummer!

Nothing crazy here. No templates. Cut sleeves down, cleaned up edges, small notches on the sleeve on the intake side (instead of my normal cut away) cause I figured we’d give it a shot. Matched it all up. Opened exhaust ports to about 61% of bore size.
Idea being a snappy little reliable setup.

Big thanks to Chris at C57 for constantly helping me out with short notice issues.

I was wrong. 210 psi roughly per hole. Down 5 lbs on the rear cyl but I’m sure it’ll even out with run time.
Adjusted my Brain and timing. 32 static set back 3 degrees. Should be 29* static tapering off 16* total starting at 5k rpm to about 7500rpm.
Brain light didn’t work! Had to do some rigging.
Also my rad dudes cover is cracked !!!! :( hate to see it.
Should be buttoned up tomororw and throw this prop in.
Then it’s a guessing game. Lots of guessing. Jetting, prop, etc..

She runs good!!!
Isn’t a 1200 but she’s stout for a sub 800.
Jetting is close. Low speed circuit is lean. Snappy on the bottom for sure. Happy with it. Flippable off boat wake, with some skill flat water.
Can’t help but smile when my ski doesn’t blow up the entire day

Also ginger warning

Time to order a JM water box. So tired of my engine being full of lake water every f’ing time I stop the ski or put it on the stand. Rrp waterbox is about to obliterate my second engine.

Long story short
Engine got obliterated, again, by the rrp waterbox.
I rebuilt it, changed to a pfp waterbox, and along the lines updated my MSD setup and wiring to be a little prettier and use duetsch connectors for quick troubleshooting.
Changed from a thrust fill to a summit fill with a much bigger opening and easily sourced gaskets/gasket pattern. Bought some 1/4” snowmobile fittings and bungs to put my own fuel line setup together.
Over tightened my gasket on the fuel fill like a goober, ended up doubling up and lightening the torque and good to go.
Last issue to work on is brackets for the tank straps so they don’t cover the fill and sometime in the future a bottom deck overhaul.
Ski has grown on me majorly and is a ton of fun although for someone of my skill level a little challenging to flat water flip but surely doable for a pro.
Super super reliable. Have had one issue and it was a broken pickup wire in about 20 gallons of fuel with me constantly slamming it upside down and left to right.
Little nose high but for sure a decent boat chaser even for being so short.

Gotta hit the wake right off the back of the boat for maximum send. I also am curious how much water you ingested through the open style air filters. How does it ride compared to the badass other than being shorter? A local guy has a -9 titan. I haven't ridden it yet. He seems to like it as it's the only ski he's had past 3 or 4 months haha.

I have trouble setting up on the first wave off the boat I almost find it easier, at least with smaller wake, to drop into the second and hit that on this ski
I’d say a fair bit, the typical milky arrestor situation, but for the most part the ski never really shut off on me or stumbled because of it. Not saying it’s good just saying I’ve had worse haha. For sure need a better setup.
It’s a fair bit more nose high but feels wider for sure. The “push pull” feeling for me at 6’ 2” was actually easier to get on my badass than on the circus. I find myself balled up a lot more on the circus but I’ve had way less time on it than the badass as of now and with a smaller engine.
If I had known I’d be going back to a smaller setup I’d have stayed on the badass to chase boatwake easier and cruise around.

That's exactly what I told you to do is keep the badass and put a smart engine in it haha

I can relate to this! Love riding my -6 Bad Ass (Mild setup XS900 w/ charging), but I often think I should go way more power or drop it down to a 701 based motor again.

Plus hitting the first wake behind the boat is illegal in most if not all states. I find a bit behind the boat where the waves make a nice trough between each other are my favorite for flips. The curl makes your rotation happen so easily
My favorite is when they make a turn like a setup wake and it creates massive rollers that you can plop yourself into the trough and barely see in front of you because it's so tall.

I hit those nice and slow... But if you time it right and go fast and time it just right hoping into the trough you will absolutely FLY

For sure dude, honestly I just enjoy whichever setup wake I happen to be in the best position for haha.
Off a wake boat the first wave for sure they’re massive but out in the lake whatever gets it done I guess lol

Hell sometimes I have my larger buddies motor their sit downs about 7’ apart from eachother to make me a nice v-wake

It's only illegal if you get caught haha. Our group will typically get a wake surf boat to throw us a wake. I've always gotten the most height hitting the wave right off the back of the boat.

I'll also add that we don't hit the boat wake right off the boat unless we know the owner and they are throwing us a wake. I don't do that on people I don't know.
