Backie chan build

Quite a bit of work done today. About every thing in engine bay is mounted. Only have to run fuel, water lines and do a couple wires. Then just waiting on prop from impros to arrive hopefully someday soon might just buy a stock prop just so i can ride next weekend

Had a fun day today. Got up early to get to the dmv at 7 so i could register my ski. At 9 30 still was in line when they tell us that they have reached capacity and wont let anyone else in without an appointment for the rest of the day and would have to come back another day or go to another dmv and take your chances that they still let people in. Since i took the day off i deceded to take the chance ended up going to 6 dmv's today and still not registered. Sucks i might use my 650sx registration but dont really want to take that chance. I just want to ride this weekend

Spent all night finishing turf. Not very fun but wanted to finish it up tonight so i can take it for a ride tomorrow. Didnt come out that great im not patient enough when its 106 outside and 120 in the shop. Didnt get a chance to get a picture of it done phone died. Also killed a starter but luckly had a spare. Just need to buy a extension shaft for the steering cable for some reason short about 6in on nozzle side and about 1in on steering side. Other then that i should be good to go for tomorrow

I took the ski out yesterday. It went better then i expected. Went for a 15 mile trip up river ran awesome. Made a couple first ever backflip attempts didnt got so well but was fun. Im using a stock blaster 2 prop so im getting some cavitation so didnt have the low end grunt i need. Hopefully ill get my prop from impros some day soon been about 5 weeks since ordered. Lost the end to my trim cable about 3/4 way through the trip i guess i didnt tightend it down enough. Engine does seem to take in alot of water dont know if its how i ride (fall) or just not used to a laydown pipe. The ride ended when it no longer wanted to start for some reason then ended up killing the battery. End up getting a ride back to the dock but still think it went pretty well.

So my prop from impros shipped out today but it got me thinking. I ran a oem blaster 2 prop last weekend which is a 10/16 prop (correct me if im wrong) and was slipping and just didnt have the punch. I ordered a Skat big hub 10/16 with 5mm cut back. Is the difference from the oem to skat going to be that noticeable or am i going to need to go taller?

the big hub 5mm cutback will do a lot with pump efficiency vs the stock impeller. the closer the blades on the trailing edge of the impeller are to the stator veins, the more efficient, quicker, and harder the pump will load up. which pump are you running?

fyi, i have a 148 5mm setback mag in my rn sj, i ordered a new impeller from jet maniac and had it 2 days later. ive never tried working with impros, i hear theyre great but can have long wait times.

Im running a oem 155. I just wasnt sure if those props being same pitch would make any noticable difference. The stock prop slips a little but got prop from impros on saturday seeing the 2 side by side i can see how it will make a difference.

Love the blue paint on that!

Does that Chan hood have air intakes? I can't tell from the pics and I have never seen a Chan in person. Or, will all the air for that motor be coming in via the breather tubes? Asking for my own reference since some AM hull hoods don't have air intakes on them, and the handle pole breather tubes are where all the air gets in. I am wondering if that will be an issue since the X-metal tube diameter is quite a bit smaller than something like RRP pole breather tubes.

Again, not suggesting it's an issue... asking what you or others have experienced for my own reference.

Thanks!

Yes the chans have hood air intakes and havent had any breathing problems
