backie chan new new builder?

Mine is on just fine. For about 25 gallons so far. Supposedly first chan to ht the water.

What are these black graphics going to look like. And why is more being charged to install the pump shoe. Shouldn't that be included to assist alignment and warranties. I'm serious interested buyer.

Can I make a suggestion? Dont be like steve and put the midshaft in wrong so you cant use a stock coupler cover.

Most all a/m hull are like this. I think it would hit the bottom of the bilge area if it was turned like OEM.

You just need to make a back support coming off the midshaft housing, or atleast that's what i did on the rickter I built.

Now I remember , the owner of this chan told me that he had the option of sealed off tray with a scupper draining the bildge or a bulkhead thats open to the tray area with scuppers at the back draining the tray area. This customer chose to seal the tray area. I remember when I was first looking at this hull the tray area was so thin you could push down on it and hear where the air leaks were coming from , like bagpipes. It was leaking around the bulkhead area when I noticed the bottom flat part of the hull under the coupler center bearing had alot of goop type buildup like the bulkhead was cut poorly at the bottom. He told me thats where steve leaves open to allow water to drain into the tray area. So he leaves a long slit on the bottom open . Thats why he puts his center bearing coupler thingy in wrong. So back to my origional statement to the new hull builders , put this thing in correct and make holes elsewhere for drainage into the tray area. 20140806_100628.jpg

Beat that coupler cover horse... Beat it....

Look how tall the ski is compared to a SJ. Everything is shorter, so in order to get the pump to align, the midshaft housing needs to be lower than a stock ski.

You've had 4 existing Chan owners tell you that its no big deal....

So are the numbers taped on the hulls the weight? I spy an 83.5 and a 94... I assume thats the weight of the unbonded pieces?

Good to see ya'll turning out hulls. They really are a good AM hull...

I dont think its the height of the midshaft , its the length of the intake grate. And I never said it was a big deal but if it was possible to set it the correct way it should be done. And I beating any hoarse , it was really a simple conversation. Some people on this site really like to blow thing out of perportion. Like the discusion in the carrbon /glass thread. Cant have any type of debate and some people get all pantie bunched.

Sorry I do not mean to derail this thread at all, I hope freestyle factory continues on the path they are on. It looks like they are doing it the right way and might make the aftermarket hull industry better

Thats pretty disappointing that the hulls are at 93 lbs not even assembled...

How much weight would be added to that #93 after bonding, foothold installation, scupper, and pump shoe...?
