I'm excited too, I've never ridden an AM hull. And I've only rode this water logged sj. So this should be an insane difference.

I went one the far end with 5" because I'm cutting this up and might as well go all out. I'm a light guy around 160lbs. So I'm figuring it should be good. I just mostly dick around in front of beaches. So I won't mind riding nose high. If it's too much I'll just put on a longer ride plate.

I'm debating on shortening the tray a few inches to match my chop. Then I can trim off a inch or two off the back.

I'm the same weight so this will be a good review for me. I personally would leave the top deck as is. It looks good to me and will still give you a good surf stance.

I've ridden a -2 superjet and it was a big difference over stock. When I chop mine I'll probably take 2 inchest off at a time. I'll just seal it up with a few layer of glass go, go ride for the day and chop 2 more off the next day. Once I find a sweet spot, I'll tear the tray apart, defoam and do it right. I'm gonna do a wide tray aswell.

Ive heard a few people complain about there sj get unstable are rocker and shorting the deck but only at realy high speeds but i feelvlike u can adapt and make up for that with body weaight/postion after u get use to it from wat ive heard. Im sure yull like it for wat u said yull use it for

I like the superjet better with a short bottom deck but long tray/top deck, it's less nose high at slow speeds and easier to recover from big airs.

Reinforced the rocker from the inside. It's not going anywhere. Got the holes cut for the drain tube. Fits snug, very happy with it.(will trim to closer to flush later) I still will have room to add drain plugs below. Looks like I'll still be able to use the stock exhaust tube and flange without large modifications. Decided to call today off early and take a break from this and actually go out and socialize for once with my friends. Haha.

How would you recommend bonding the PVC tube to the fiberglass? Just 5200 or use resin and glass?

Also any tips on blending the rocker mold to the hull itself? I want to use body filler to a minimum.

Happy New Years to all!

For my pvc pipe, I 5200 on the inside and outside, then laid fiberglass over it to secure it

Well today is the last day I was able to work on it. Won't be back home in 7 weeks. Ugh. Everything is sealed up and reinforced. Pink foam got stuffed in. Got my first base layer of glass for the tray.

I defiantly didn't get as far as I wanted to over break, but I'm not disappointed. Now really only the smaller stuff is left. Other then the hood. I might just jump on a nice carbon hood if one comes up for sale.

I decided to grind off the overlap, looks so much better. I'm happy I did that. Everything is flush now. I added more reinforcement on the inside, most likely too much. I feel like I'm underestimating the strength of fiberglass. Can't be too strong though! Now I'm going to add a few layers of sheet on the outside and the nose is done! Now to finish up the tray. Once that's done the hull is basically done! Just gotta sand stuff smooth and prep for paint. Need to work on the hood.

I would add some layers on the inside of the engine bay so it allows more water to exit out the scupper and not get trapped by the firewall. I'm sure I could get a photo of the way mine is if you'd like

Looking good, hope to see this one out on the river this year! Kind of makes me want to rocker my XFT.

That would be a cool build, I'd imagine that would make a good difference on that hull. I'd feel bad cutting up an AM hull though haha.

Yeah I'll only riding the croix this summer mostly south of Hudson, Duluth a couple times, and hopefully to the Sortie. I think school starts the week after so I should make it.

Good news- the hood weighs 12 lbs now
bad news- there is not much hood left

This is going to suck. There was so much filler used, it was basically holding the hood together. I'm going to have to get creative on this to use filler to a minimum.

Hull weighs in at 109lbs, crazy light compared to before.

Got the hood down to 7lbs removing the rest of the junk. Now time to add.

Time is running short again! Ugh. I hope I can get this hood done before I leave.

Long day today.

I work custom auto-body during the summer. I took it out to my boss's shop and got some ideas on the paint. I'm thinking plum purple would be interesting.
