Super Jet Best aftermarket battery

Haha. The Antigravity explosion pic says it all. Ugh!
The Earthx ETX36 seem like a great battery at 405CCA, 36 Ah, 3.9lbs.... and no need for the hassles of a separate charging system. Quite pricey though at $349.

I have an Antigravity 16 cell that's not as bad but looks similar. It worked fine for me up until I put my ski away for the winter, but when I went to put my ski back together I noticed all sides are bulged out. EarthX are way better batteries and have way better support, just remember to seal up around the terminals.

$58 Amazon "chrome battery" YB16CL-B AGM battery that matches stock specs here. Have them in two skis now.

I considered the Odyssey PC625 stock spec for $110. But I didn't think it would last twice as long as the generic. Probably should have sprang for it.

With the smaller batteries what are you guys using for straps to hold it in the tray?

We only run earthx they prefer you to run TL on them rather then continuous charging systems. They have a balance charge setup up inside of them. They are a little pricey but there working great in all of our 245psi compression comp motors.

My WPS is going on one year, no special charging during riding season, it's been coil charged only. No issues yet.

My Odyssey PC625 is seriously about 10 years old and still works great. Used in TL ski's and charging ski's. Drained it several times leaving TL on for weeks. Loves the abuse and asks for more.

My Deka 12 lasted 3 years then went belly up.

I am going to resurrect this thread from the depths to say I had this same issue and fix on my 2016 Yamaha 701 as the OP. Go to start one day about a week after riding and had the same buzz sound as in the OP video. Battery read 12.4v so thought it was ok but apparently not enough current to crank. First fix I tried was to put a new Odyssey PC625 (current PN is ODS-AGM16CL) in it based on the recommendations here. Was immediately cranking and got it running fine again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Does anyone run Shorai batteries? I have a few in my motorcycles and have the charger already, so makes me lean that way. I’ve had good luck with them and when I did have an issue, customer service was great.

I used to run them years ago but they were junk just like most lithium batteries. They did warrante a few for me but they werent worth the money. Brandon lawlor was sponsored by them and I see his had some extra sealing goop on all the seams. They die quick when water gets inside, which is probably why mine didnt last
