Good find.
According to page 6 and 7 of the owner's manual (Linky), the 14.2V seems to be more important for deep cycle charging.
A 12V trickle charger is specifically mentioned as okay on page 7 for maintenance and small charging.

However, as blanket recommendation, that 14.2V certainly makes sense.
Matt, see my update in my Odyssey thread. I am done with them. They are worthless.

What! What!
I have batteries in my Blaster and FX1 that I bought from Pro-Tec years ago, five our six, as I recall. They are still performing like champs. I think they call them a PT-1. I don't know who makes them for Pro-Tec. Might be Jetworks??? I have had them sit idle without a charger for months with no problems. When I do charge them like a good boy should, I use a Battery Tender.

Anyway, great batteries.

hmm I dont see much of a diffrence with those 2 chargers, both are running around 10 to 12 amps,I doubt that the 25 amp cycle needs to be run on a small batt to full charge it ,even if its almost fully discharged, charging at 10 amps then falling to 2 amps to get the full charge should do the trick on both these smart chargers, for some reason they dont even list black and decker chargers

also that 25/12/2 can be bought at wally world for 65 bucks if anyone needs one.
