Best Li-Fe battery I have seen so far

I would charge mine after each ride and all was good in battery land until it sat unused for two weeks with water in it. I blew a bunch of water out of it. I managed to load test it and it's done. It reAds 18 v right now. I did receive a tracking number for me free one today. I don't have my receit, I told him it was full of wafer and I drilled it, And I have no intention of sending this one back. I am going to have to seal this thing up better I guess.

I have a 3M adhesive epoxy potting compound, Do you think it would trap too much heat if you encapsulated the entire thing?

no i don't think that would be a problem. got a link for that stuff? i was thinking of silicone based sealant on the terminals but am open to something that isn't going to make it a couple pounds heavier. haha

Look up 3M DP270 potting compound. I warn you though, it is not cheap nor is it lightweight but it would still be lighter than a conventional battery.

I got my free replacement battery in the mail today. I guess the 2 year warranty is good. Looks like I will be running a shoria for a while.

down with the sickness
Just contacted shoria again due to my replacement starting to drain on its own again. I put di-electric grease into charging port then sealed it with rtv, and also did the same with terminals and the seam. It lasts about two days then goes flat whether it's connected to ski or sitting on counter. If you shake it you can hear water. When they send me another I'm going to build a lexan waterPROOF housing for it, and shouldn't have to deal with this again...

I used automotive goop around the terminals but have not swamped my ski and no water intrusion yet.... These batteries are light but adding battery boxes or potting to make the more reliable in watercrafts defeats the purpose that we intended to have by running them. 9 lbs deka is a safer bet. Mine is still going but lots have failed that I know of. Replacement has been good for most that I know that have tried.

Got my other replacement last week, and have it all sealed up ready for install. I must say Shoria has the best warranty of any company I've EVER dealt with. Still can't believe they send the replacement batter without having you send old one in till you get it.

One of my 16 cell Ballistic's is done. The balancing connector broke off two pins and it didn't completely charge prior to my last ride with it. Consequently, the battery over-discharged and will no longer charge properly on any charger.
I'll cut it open to see if I can replace individual cells.

Just read entire thread because I forgot I needed a smaller battery (5.25" x 3.5" max) for my new build; the q8 has a molded in battery tray. I was going try out there shorai but no way am I now, going to run to local auto place and source a normal factory sealed battery that will fit. High hopes for a massive cc amps

I just checked my shoria yesterday when cleaning the garage. Cranked over like crazy and then I threw it on the charger and it topped up in 15 minutes. I left it in the ski hooked up since late October when we stopped riding for the season.
