best surf engine ?

You cant go wrong with the jetmaniac ported topend. Especially since you are overseas. Always topnotch service, parts, shipping and communication when dealing with jetmaniac.

Save your money for more gas, more ride time. In the surf you dont need a big motor, just big balls.
Lool ! Got that right.

Dual 38s are fuel efficient, and forgiving to tune. Keep your 38s. Plenty of carb for surf.

No need to have dual 44s, just a bigger hole for your money and water to go into...

Heck, my single 46 uses more fuel than my dual 38s.

Hay guys I was wondering what do u think the best surf engine durability and power wise I was thinking of the blowsion 760 or 850 cylinder kit but wanted to take opinions on that keep in mind money power and durability
cheers guys
I just ordered the tpe 964. I research stuff like a maniac. Seems like bang for the buck, u can't go wrong. From what I have learned, when a DASA blows everything goes!

I agree with the others that the Jetmaniac ported engine is the way to go, not just for price and power but for customer support, ease of ordering and shipping as well as the most complete package ready to run. He really know show to put a package together that will best suit your needs and stay within your budget.

FYI, I run a both a ported 760 with 38's and an SS865 with 46's and have to say that the 760 is a very nice package. The SS865 has more power but there is such a thing as too much power in the surf. IMO, it is much better to be worn out because of the surf than it is because of the power you are holding on to. I went for big power myself and now my ski wears me out long before the surf does.

Hay guys wts the diff between wiseco and pro x pistons ?

ProX are cast pistons and designed to be direct oem replacement pistons. Wisecos are forged pistons. There are pros and cons to each piston and there are many threads here on the X about them already.

$2k seems like a lot of money for a 760 top end kit only from Blowsion, excluding head. As far as bang for the buck, you might consider shipping your stuff out to someone who can port it for you if you are on a budget. As mentioned, once you start spending money on parts, plan to do some upgrades to the rest of your boat, carbs, intake, pump.

I bet it was interesting to witness a revolution in your lifetime over there!

I am in Oman and running x2 dasa 950 8mms with near stock electrics and have had a reliable year with them. Given the summer temps here well above 120 and seeing that i ride 3 times per week most of the year they have been great. 2 meter surf today in Oman and having the 950 with a short hull made for some very lazy small wave flips. Even with 144s.

I cant vouch for the 964 from TPE but it seems solid and a very cost effective solution. Everyone I have spoken to that runs one with stock electrics and a bpipe says they hit really hard. Very tempting throwing one of those in a pred.

Isnt the tpe 964 a complete shortblock for arou d $4k? Thats over budget, and remember, he has shippjng, fees and possibly taxes on the import.

If he could buy a tpe cylinder only, he would need case work. If he cant have his cylinder ported he cant have his case ported.

This likely leaves the only option a used tpe, which would still be bkarderline on his budget, and i personally would be cautious buying a used motor at all, much less internationally.

I personally am happy with a stock cylinder perfectly tuned that starts everytime, but if i nedded more, id be looking jetmaniac. Its a simple bolt on solution that retains all stock intake with exceptional customer service. International shipping concerns me but i wouldnt hesitate to buy anything from him. The are other cylinder options but i buy jetmaniacs service, no his parts. Parts just happen to come with the service.

If the jm wasnt enouh for me, id wait until my motor budget was more than 2k. The are other cylinder options, but with no one local to work cases and etc, i would be very careful about budget. An am PV cylinder will likely run close to budget and there are a lot more expenses than just the cyliNder. Ive ridden xs900 and a tpe 964, both were amazing power, but you have to commit to a budget. If 2k is the budget, be careful moving into those areas. Also, remeber the costs of repair anx maintenzncd.
