Isnt the tpe 964 a complete shortblock for arou d $4k? Thats over budget, and remember, he has shippjng, fees and possibly taxes on the import.
If he could buy a tpe cylinder only, he would need case work. If he cant have his cylinder ported he cant have his case ported.
This likely leaves the only option a used tpe, which would still be bkarderline on his budget, and i personally would be cautious buying a used motor at all, much less internationally.
I personally am happy with a stock cylinder perfectly tuned that starts everytime, but if i nedded more, id be looking jetmaniac. Its a simple bolt on solution that retains all stock intake with exceptional customer service. International shipping concerns me but i wouldnt hesitate to buy anything from him. The are other cylinder options but i buy jetmaniacs service, no his parts. Parts just happen to come with the service.
If the jm wasnt enouh for me, id wait until my motor budget was more than 2k. The are other cylinder options, but with no one local to work cases and etc, i would be very careful about budget. An am PV cylinder will likely run close to budget and there are a lot more expenses than just the cyliNder. Ive ridden xs900 and a tpe 964, both were amazing power, but you have to commit to a budget. If 2k is the budget, be careful moving into those areas. Also, remeber the costs of repair anx maintenzncd.
