Just did 2 of 'em last night with x2 franks air-hacksaw. That's the greatest tool on earth! (also used it to cut out footwells)What are you guys using to cut the ride plate. Was thinking a dremel, but it'll take a heck of a long time to cut. Maybe a angle grinder?
I'll have to get Frank to post a pic/link....He's a mechanic and those snap on & mac tool guys are always bringing in the latest & greatest to his shop. I can tell you that it reciprocates like a jigsaw and has about a 2 1/2" blade but it's air driven.air hack saw? post a link
That's the tool!!!It's a pneumatic jigsaw and thanks for reminding me, I borrowed one of these a few months back for my build and it worked awesome. I meant to buy one ot the time but then forgot.
This is the Chicago Pneumatic one but ebay has lots of cheaper ones listed.
coarse tooth metal blade. most wood blades are not designed to cut metal.jigsaw with a wood blade works well. I've cut several plates this way.
A metal cutting blade ends up getting galled up and filled with aluminum.
ill let you know once i get work again.^^^sick!
how much you want to do that to my jet dynamics plate?
plasma cutter...
