One way would be to place a 5/16 eye bolt under tray right or left of center...the nut would be below the tray pad...there are two eyelets there already right and left.
I took a flat piece of stainless about 1.5" wide and 3" long.Drilled two holes,one large enough to hold a tow loop and the other that fit the pump bolt. Attached it to one of the rear bolts on the pump.lt did ok but the last time l towed somebody it must have worked the bolt and pump loose.So l did not do a great job of getting the bolt tight or had another problem.l don't use locktite,so maybe that was the reason.l still think that is the way to have a tow loop,just need to refine it!

Got what you are sayin...
It has to be off center because the nozzle is right at the top and usually a bow eye is centered.

Thanks for pic RMBC...a 5/16 eye bolt will accept the bomber tough surf quick connects JM sells.

Yeah I wasn't sure if you were running trim or not but kinda figured you'd want it to be mounted off center. I wouldn't see a problem with mounting one off center unless you care about how symmetrical it looks but I kind of imagined having a bow eye with a tow loop from Idok... BUT could be mounted different ways to make it be hidden. I like the idea of using a standard boweye (not the longer one designed for under padding) and have it mounted through the hull offset from the steering nozzle/pump but still in the pump cavity. I'd mount it before laying turf and underpadding. Then lay the padding and turf over it and bamb! You have a strong strap setup that's very functional but hidden while viewed from the top. BOB hulls have 2 bow eyes in the back corners which is another idea for you. I do like your idea RMBC also since it's clean and hidden, as long as the screws are held solid enough for the force of towing

I used a 1" nylon strap folded once over then bolted through the folds with a washer, then through the edge of the tray,offset just outside of the pump area. used a 5/16 button head allen hidden under the turf. I couldnt be happier with it, also serves as a handle to drag or spin ski around on beach etc. I have towed with it and use it to winch my ski in and out of the back of my pickup rack setup every time with it and never had any issue.

I like the strap idea too, nice and simple.
My pad eye is thru-bolted under the turf, so no worries for towing, transport, and winching it up onto the beach tote. Although the off center mounting makes it pull sideways a little when going on the tote. No biggie though...

All great ideas! The one thing we all overlook is how much solid area is there on the rear end of a Freak from the outer edge towards the inside..l bonded my freak and remember there is not much area in the bond line on the stern edge.
l like what you did RMBC! l would want to put some washers and nuts on the top of the tray.So that means me returfing.......

Would work for tying down...
You could cut a square of turf out with a razor and glue it back in ?
I agree it's thin and needs a backing plate like RMBC did.

I like that strap idea. I just drilled a hole and tied a rope in a loop through it. I have never liked it but couldn't come up with a better idea at the time....
