better freestyle ski superset or 750

Hey guys. I just got into the sport and would like to get into some freestyle riding. I thought a kawi X2 would be a good ski for it but after riding my buddies superset 701, I realized that stand ups are the way to go. So I don't make the same mistake, I figured I'd ask you guys for your opinion. What would you guys buy as your next ski? Would you go for a Yamaha superset or would you buy a kawasaki stand up? My budget right now is about $2,500 - $3,000. Thanks for the advice.

Superjet it is. Hands down. More will chime in with more knowledge, but I know how I hate waiting for answers haha.

$3,000 will get you a nice ski to start with

I have both and prefer the one that is running best at the time. Once you are used to each there isn't a clear winner IMHO. Different but either one running well will be a blast.

Haha got it.
And I'm most likely going to import one from the US. No offence to anyone but all the guys in canada that are selling ski's want way to much for them. What year would you guys recommend for me? Is there a year where the haul was lighter then other years? Again I've got a budget so no 2013's for me.

Oh ok, sweet. I'm hoping to get my hands on one that already has the body shaved out or your feet and returffed. I have no idea how to do that. All the rest of the mods I can do myself

Try to find a 94-95 Squarenose if possible, they came stock with 701's, previous years came with 650's.
But try to snatch up a 96-07 Roundnose if possible..
Also, theres a ton of threads with lots of info and how to's on how to install footholds.. Its really not that bad at all.. If I can do it you can do it trust me.. So don't let that stop you from buying a super clean 701 if you come across one... And don't just jump into some beatdown 650 just cause it has foot holds..

Where in Canada are you located? I have a heavily modified SN hull that I would sell cheap

Toronto and midland ontario. What are you selling it for? And I just got a response from a guy in the US that wants to buy my X2 with a paypal account. Has anyone ever done this before?

I've bought a lot of skis out of the states and have used, paypal, wire ect.. Lots of paypal scammers out there, but if you can actually call and talk to the guy on the phone its pretty safe
