You should be able to identify what is causing the issue by process of elimination.

Try the battery in a different setup, try a different battery in the current setup. continue down the line...

LiPo are funky, Burst Vs Continous Rates, Internal Resistance is less. This could allow your starter to pull more Amps in the circuirt.

The following might help you understand
http://rogershobbycenter.com/lipoguide

Starter Resistance + Line Resistance + Battery Resistance = Total Circuit Resistance. If that number drops your RPMs will increase. I(current) = Volts/resistance

CARBONX2 is very likely 100 % spot-on with his conclusion.

fact...The LiPo batteries internal resistance is much much lower than any Lead acid...it also gets lower the longer you crank the starter(i.e heat in the battery lowers the resistance in LiPo bats....so the bigger LiPos huge amps draw (based on the much lower combined resistance in the whole circuit) can instantaneously wack the hell out of the armature before it starts to rotate (thus behaving similar to a solenoid for a moment )...and causing the damage observed....the smaller LiPos probably just dont have the CCA capacity to do the same damage.

24-cell have 720CCA :p It does seem to happen more when I have been changing domes and doing compression tests or when the engines has picked up a bit of water and takes longer to start
I previously ran AGM MotoBatt and Odyssey battery, never had this problem
