yes i have 2!! they still fit under the coupler cover and miss the shaft, but mine airlock like a SOB all the time. the old attwoods never did.

Really? Yikes. The old Attwoods were cheaper, smaller (especially after cutting the upper outer housing off), available at Wal-marts, pulled less current, and didn't airbind like Rules.

Looks like I'm gonna have to stock up on some old ones.

yeah jett im hating mine, i think i might go the rule 360 just because i here they dont lock. ive never tried them personally. imo the tsunami's blow

and the old ones definitely fit better. they would fit under a kawi shaft these are pretty tall i think

Thanks for the side-by-side pics and comparison, 2lick.
I like the base of the new attwood better than the old base.

i was pissed when i saw my walmart doesn't carry the old ones any longer

I was shopping for a new bilge pump a couple months back. Saw those new attwoods and was kind of disgusted on how big they were because the old attwoods just barely fit under my driveshaft. Went to the discount aisle for sh*ts and giggles to see if the old ones were being pawned off there. Sure enough...the entire bilge pump kit with wires, hose, pump, etc. was only $15!

I agree that the old style base was much crappier than the new one. That was why I had to buy the new pump in the first place...the base had sheared all the teeth off the old one.

I'm running one now too. it fits under the shaft and air binds like the others have said. I don't run a switch and it will clear out the air bind and work properly pretty quickly.

I wonder how hard it will be to get them to warranty this pump.

I put one in the X2 it seems to work ok,I hate the base compared to the Rule, kinda a biotch to glue in,I had to cut the base up prteey bad to get it to clear the ribs on the X2 it does clear the driveshaft though.

What is meant by air binding? Does the pump just quit pumping water until turned off and back one or what?

yep that's about it. On mine I don't have a switch but it will unbind if the water isn't level with the bottom of the ski. basically, if you turn it will unbind.
