Bilge pump placement - theory

Is there any reason why most use a rule 500? I believe the 1100 rule is the exact same size, so why not use that? Surely it would perform better then two 500s?

Why they say 500gph on them I'll never know ,if you read the find print it tells you how much they really pump .Attwods were around 360 and rules a little less

I'm using an ok bilge pump right now, variable speed, doesn't bind up or cavitate while using etc etc...

Good luck using that wide open on the water. I use attwood because thats what my Wal-Mart sells.
