Blaster Blaster pipe, Prop, Bars h20box q's

Just picked up a 95 Blaster that's all stock for 8 hundred bucks that needs some love. I want to set it up for surf and maybe eventually have Carter come and do the rocker for me.

The guy gave me a Coffman pipe that looks like it has been welded not sure why but how does the Coffman compare to the factory b pipe? same power? little less?

If I were to use the coffmin pipe what prop or pitch would be optimal four 170 psi. It is stock now with a beat up blade. Same about as a super jet?

I am 6'4" so I need high bars what's the best way to get the bars really Highup there. Stock now.

Here's a pic of the pipe not sure what's going on with the weld.

Would be better just to go by a factory b pipe? Can you use a super jet pipe or do you have to get the Blaster type that turns.

the coffman pipe should work fine. A FFP pipe is nice and will come around for sale. Coffmans were heavier due to their cast makeup. The stinger on yours there as been cut off rewelded and indexed to point towards the water box inlet. This was common to take a SJ pipe an turn it for use in a B1. I'd clean it up and run it first. see what you like. Talk to jetmainac chris about a prop. the hookers are very nice. might be a better option for you if your stocker is already in need of repair or replacing. you can have your cyl head milled down or find a used one to bump up your compression. If you have a 1995 does it still have the dual carb setup up in it already? look into a UMI or 701 industries steering stem for it. if shes beat up check EVERYTHING ...Crank Seals, wear ring etc etc!

just has single carb now. compression is at 120 each cylinder. surprised it even runs now with 120, but i'd like to redo top end and get to 170 like my rickter and sj. I figure i got it cheap so spending 1k to get it rippin will be worth it and can get my money out of it later.

mattsmith i have a full factory pipe limited set up for a waveblaster for sale. i just sold my hull and parted out the whole ski. i just sold the 701 industries steering which is gunna be the best steering you can throw on that blaster esp being tall. i am 6'2" and loved my 701 steering so much i got one on my new fixsteer sj i just put together.
that coffmans pipe is going to suck in the surf. going to kill low end, heavy as hell and sucks to tune.

hooker 10-16 big hub in a stock pump works really well in the blaster and most surf guys go with these. i loved my set up for a 61x with head pipe msd lightened flywheel and wetjet carb n maifold it ripped hard. was great on gas and never an issue ever

pm me if u got any questions or if you want to buy the factory pipe set up. ready to bolt in n go

since i bought out coffmans, i got all their info. they recommend an I prop or skat 10/18. modified rev limiter. i've got their jetting specs for that pipe. hp gain was 20, from 60 to 80. pipe looks like it was cut and turned. could have been a SJ pipe made to fit blaster. those pipes are heavy and unless you have the required bracket that bolts to the cyl and those 4 holes with gromets, its junk. since they are heavy, they dont take abuse well. better for flat water and racing. 95 red came with 61x motor and single carb. 96= dual carbs

QS-S NON STAND BAR HIGHT.jpgQS-S 3 INCH RISER HEIGHT.jpgHa Matt. the new QS-S on the market is the highest steering ever produced. It towers over standard steering and doesn't need adaptors. This is the only purpose built steering in the World that is 100% design around some of the best Blaster freestylers on the planet. The first shipment of pre-sold units are leaving for the States in a few days. I will start a thread to get all the feedback . Zimmy and Chris are both running this QS-S so pm them for any thing you need to know.

Make sure you check the tightness on the bolts every couple rides or double nut them. Sucks when they get loose and snap off...

That steering reminds me of ape hangers on a Harley

Just think about freestyle BMX bike stems, its unnoticeable when on the ski. We have the 701 stems on Todds 2 blasters. It also moves your body forward just a touch just like any pole ski with a pole bracket moved forward. Also its a smart design because it uses a standard style bmx size neck so if you wanted it without the forward you can easily buy a zero neck and have it at original location. But like i said you wouldn't notice it anyways. And if you see how hard Zimmy is on stuff and he is flipping the $hit out of this stem you know it will take a beating.

I'm hoping to pick up a qs in the very near future! Just gotta get my money right. Definitely on my list of goodies though. Zimmy have a YouTube channel?

go buy some sawz-all blades and grub for the bbq and ill be on my way :) !!!
its a decent pipe if you are staying on the water and just farting around but def worth the money to get a lighter pipe that wont rattle off. superjet B pipes work fine too. I will usually weld in a 3" section to increase chamber volume if i go the SJ route. 10/16 big hubs are pretty hard to beat. stock 155 pumps are quite easy to fit in the blaster as well and do heaps of good :) 701 steering setups are the only way to go and your height will def need it!
i got all sorts of fun parts and stuff to do for the blaster so keep me posted....you will be pleasantly surprised with a reshaped blaster in the surf especially with your big O-side swell that lets you get so pitted :present:
