Just saw this come across my you tube feed. Any idea who the riders were?
Great work and great quick thinking, your sons heart is as big as they come and his courage is clearly second to none. It looked scary as hell and I was really watching as you guys pretty much were right behind them cruising out and because your watching for everything out there as you ride you were able to help out immediately. Great job grabbing the young ones swiftly! It was me and my son. I grabbed smallest 4yo who was by himself hysterical. I yelled for my son to grab next smallest and follow me to shore. No way we could take larger children or adults of course. My son pulled up and realized that no other kids had life jackets and decided to call them away from noat to hold on to his ski so they wouldnt get pounded into it by overhead waves. It was in area that could have been sucked into pier and killed them all but luckily the current carried them past it. There were no other boats around. The surf was huge. I had to have a talk with my son afterwards about the risk he took and that I do not approve of him choosing to die with the victims if he cannot help them. I said if they were heading into pier I would have wanted him to leave them as horrific as that would have been. None of them could have rode his ski if he wanted to sacrifice his life for one of them and no one should chose to die with victims who cannot be saved. So thankful it all turned out ok.
1. Shouldn't have gone out at all.I'm a minnesota landlubber here don't know anything about the ocean so I'm sorry if this is dumb question but is it normal for a boat like that to be in surf like that? Looks sketchy
Yes. Nope. Lot's of thanking but no beers.Did you guys talk to the boat people at all after? They at least buy you a beer?
Yep. They turned the wrong direction for sure.I still do not get why they did not come out and head South East immediately, looks like it was much smoother and waves spaced out more.
