A very large majority of BOBs that are for sale right now are being upgraded to G3 or our Freeride hull. The only people that hate them are the ones who haven't owned one or haven't spent much time on them.

Lol bobs are junk, plain and simple. The G3 claims to be only carbon but I've seen otherwise.

Never claimed 100% carbon. Please send me links if you've seen other wise.
We use a crush mat to start the lay ups to help lay shape and make the carbon lay up easier, which is what you saw on Josh's ski.

Im going to buying a bob hull this winter and building it and im wondering whats the cheapest route to go. ive been reading and it sounds like you can just buy a 1996 or newer superjet and swap everything over. could i do that with a square nose or no? and if i were to do everything from scratch does anyone have a parts list of everything id need or is there somewhere i can get that thanks.

96-07 Yamaha Super Jet components will bolt right up.
-Internal Fuel Filler is recommended, but you can mount the Fuel Filler above the handle pole bracket.
-The stock pole and bracket will bolt up, but it is recommended to upgrade to aftermarket with adjustable capabilities.

08-12 Yamaha Super Jets will require a drive shaft from a 07 and older Super Jet.
-Also note that the steering cable is different on the newer Super Jets as well, the throw travel is shorter.

90-95 Yamaha Super Jets Handle Pole and bracket will not work.
-You will either need a Handle Pole, Bracket and chin pad from a '96 and newer or any aftermarket pole and bracket will mount up to the BOB.
-Mid Shaft bearing housing is too small, and you will need one from a '96 and newer. Many Yamaha Runabouts share the same one needed.
-Exhaust hose from the water box to the outlet tube is reduced to 2" on the Square Nose. You will need either the hose from the 96 and newer model that is the full 2.5" or make an adapter to make the end of your 2 inch to the 2.5 tube on the BOB.

I can't believe all these threads. The OP just asked about assembly and parts compatibility, then the downward spiral begins... To the OP, buy what you like, it seems you are on the right track by asking questions and doing research. Don't let everyone else's opinions make your mind up. Find a few hulls to ride and make your decision based on your taste and budget! Most a/m hulls will require some work to put together. Some more than others.

I'm new to jet skis (550sx 07-11, got a sj this year) so I'm not claiming to know a lot, but it seems like people buy hulls expecting that it's going to make them a better rider. I certainly can't go buy a blood pressure cuff and call myself a doctor. You gotta put in the practice time.

Anything will fit if you have a dewalt grinder.........just saying from personal experience.
Now your trashing the super freak?

I would almost be willing to bet that the Bob Hull has the most units out there, that's probably why you notice them for sale most

I'll say this once, and only once. All you bob owners who paid for a carbon G3, take a dril to it and lemme know how much actual carbon is there compared to glass.

My apologies to those who find out what they actually bought.......

Damn that pole is huge! Did you just install that cause people said it couldn't be done? Haha!

OP...just go out to where you know a lot of people ride A/M hulls and just test everything you can get your hands on. Every set up will be different, as people build skis for themselves. Ride what you like! If you like a BOB then buy a BOB, if you like an EME buy an EME. It's all about your opinion in the end not everyone else's.

Jace Forest...BRAP!
I have rode the crap out of my glass gen2 for about a year and a half now and she is still solid as a rock. Just in the past 3 weeks iv'e run 60 gallons of gas thru my ski and that's how I ride just about year around, so I wouldn't call them junk.
This winter ill be switching hopefully to a G3K kevlar bob hull.

I have yet to ride the rok.... I have heard only good things about the hull and I actualy like Jeff....my worries are the "delivery part" ......Hopefully I can try one in Havasu this year.

As for the BOB parts needed you will need a RN long exhaust tube they are different larger size than square, RN midshaft, all screw down tie down strap holders
