my OPINION =-==others might be different. LOL

I rode mine at daytona. and it was a bioch, way to short for surf ,, its A Flat Water Hull.. Surf was a washing machine, with smoother surf it might have been better. i say buy a rickter or superfreak if you going to ride surf.

ah that was your black bob hull is saw in the parking lot . damn i would have tried to persuade you to let me have a go ! lol . i rode the xfs there and i think the same unless your tiny/verylight/extremely talented these boats are to small to cope with anything other than glass conditions .that xfs was hard work to keep on the plane and recover from a roll etc . i bet flatwater i would have been a different story . thats what its built for tc just has some crazy skills . i think the bob would be similer just my opinion

Its hard to have both of best worlds. I loved my Gen One BOB and now we have a Gen 2. Its good for flat water and surf. If its a washing machine, Yes its a little tough to ride. All around its very fun and I have back flipped it off of 2 foot boat waves with no trim and a stock 61x with a pipe and head. Come to NY and I will let you ride one. I sell all kinds of aftermarket hulls.

or a superjet.. i hear they handle pretty good in the surf :27:

also, keep in mind that alot of the people that comment about how a hull handles in the surf, never ride surf, so they would be uncomfortable on anything. unless its coming from someone with surf experience, i would take it with a grain of salt.
ross champion has a good write up in here about his experience with the b.o.b in the surf.

Rickter xfs and the 1st gen BOB rode very similar IMO. Neither would be my favorite for surf but they are fun on flatwater.

With my experience with the gen 1 bob I would get sloshed around pretty good in the surf, have not ridden one in the surf, but every time I did a trick or lose momentum I ended up in a tail stand, dragging a leg to get back up on step quickly. the XFS wasn't like that to me and felt much more stable, confident and flickable. But they are both very short hulls and would make for some FAST rotating backflips like Zack was telling me one time, and would make some crazy in the pocket trick possible like what TC is tryin to do. Backflip re-rentrys?!? sick!

more time spent on the bob in the waves now. setup setup setup. its all in the setup. pole length, bars. rider weigth. once ya get it all right its fun to ride. but if its wrong it wheelies all over the place. just started to roll bob the last time out. 15mph wind blown waves. is it hard to ride yes. its like starting over.

. no backflips yet but i havent even tried. still learning how to ride it. last time out got a nice role off a 2 foot boat wake.

B.O.B in the surf is awesome!!! you can ride in any conditions!! It just takes time to get used to it!! Cant wait to shred the new gen2 carbon surf edition!!!

I don't know man. I saw you ride at Surf Slam and that sealed the deal for me that a BOB isn't for me. Your riding was great, so don't take it the wrong way. But you were hunched over the front of the ski the entire time you were riding. It looked extremely uncomfortable.
