There is another Facebook link that says something different. Until there's a official announcement I wouldn't go nuts.

My thoughts from the "update" thread.

Whether intentional or not these messages are really cryptic.

What does it mean they have taken over? Do they intend to put on an event? Has insurance been secured? Is their any kind of plan?

There are literally hundreds of people whose plans hinge on what's going on. These messages and posts are not the least bit helpful.

Take the time to compose a message that has some detail and shows respect for the people who have wasted their time and money on something that may/may not happen. If I were coordinating an event I think I would have a bit more respect for my fellow riders and the effect this has on their schedules and wallets.

To simply blame the city seems like a cop out. Someone dropped the ball, I'm hesitant to believe this can be hung on the City's shoulders.

To be honest, Sounds like a bunch of bullcrap. If the city 'took over', someone obviously f'd up. Hopefully it gets resolved. Nothing like waiting till 2 days before hand.

We bring alot of cash flow into that comunity on an off season time. Seems like someone really sctewed the pooch if the town was against this event.

Like it's easy for someone to sit there and say don't worry it'll work out if u live down the shore already but me and my buddies have 900 bucks on the line with a house rental that we can't get a refund on so excuse us if some people are a little upset about this being so unorganized when they had an entire year to plan this
