What really matters is that you use the method the person supplying your timing curve suggests :)
Tuners/builders have their way of measuring and testing/tuning. When you "read on the Internet what lots of people say", that's a good way to have issues with your setup. You've asked many people for help. Pick one of them, and do what they say. You have too many chiefs and one Indian.
And for the record, finding TDC correctly is only the beginning. How you measure and verify dynamic timing is where it's at.

I haven't got any curves from any one I don't even have a motor yet I was reading to learn more about it so I don't mess anything up
