So all three of my skis now take $36 to register instead of the normal $20. Thanks to some mussel prevention bull:):):):). Somehow I think $16 dollars extra per boat is a bit much. Hell I'd pay $20 extra if they kept the launch ramps in a decent shape and opened up the bathrooms.

That state will never cease to rape their taxpayers. its amazing that anyone lives there anymore. Although, I'm glad so many choose to stay put. Californians seem to bring their tax philosophy to every state they move to. Colorado is quickly being overtaken and ruined.

I don't even ride anywhere there are mussels so why should i have to pay? Its just stupid and with multiple skis registration is going to be ridiculous! Im starting to not want to live in CA anymore. Taxes and too many morons..

People are leaving California for more reasons than just the over taxation. 2A violations, illegals and stinking hippie liberals to name a few. Don't blame transplants for your issues, most of your problems are home grown! I was born and raised in Cali and it sucks I'm going to have to eventually leave because of the above mentioned. Don't worry, Colorado isn't even on my list of places to go :)

Also, isn't if funny how Canadian's are so quick to tell you how great Canada is? Of course your registration is good for 10 years, could it be because it takes you that long to get the ride time I do in one season?

CRJ, quick, delete your post before all these knuckleheads in Cali read it. Before you know it you will start having "Cali" problems! LMAO

You can get a exception for this fee if u only use ur watercraft in coastal waters. It's a pain in the arse but may keep a few bucks away from the government http://apps.dmv.ca.gov/vehindustry/vin_memos/vin2013/13vin20.pdf

the best part of the mussel tax is that the money doesn't actually go to preventing the spread of the mussels (you still have to pay for that in your water bills) its just another way to increase revenues for the bureaucracy

Oh the mighty Quagga mussel, we got hit with a $5 tag for every vessel also in NV, even kayaks. It will be interesting what they are going to do about it. Lake Havasu is infected, so anyone that put their ski in Havasu might be infected :), unless you completely dried out your ski and the water system(waterbox). They better find a good predator to eat these creatures. Lake Tahoe has inspections setup for every vessel, every time you come up, I think they want $20 for every inspection.
