Different... Many People here have gotten beat.. not just me.. let the X come out... I just had one motor... not to bad.. there is some more posts in the works right now...
Isnt this the same motor that was in your ski that you bought from Paul???
or am I confused.
The first thing that comes to mind when I read this is Libel vs Slander. Slander is public defamation in a transitory form aka spoken and libel is public defamation in form of fixed medium ie written, signs, pictures, CD, DVD…. So the so called slander would really be libelous statements. However in order to defame something the statements must be factious and of malicious intent. From what I can see these statements have been instantiated with empirical account, but the manner of presentation could be perceived as malicious in intent. However if they can be substantiated as fact it really doesn’t matter.
Second thing is I have seen the dropping sleeves and slow turn around first hand locally as well as some of the other issues brought to light. I am not claiming to know everything about the intricacies of motor building especial in regards to sleeving and porting. I can say in the 10+ years I have been building motors I have never heard of using glue to set a sleeve. The process of heating a cylinder(if that method is chosen) for sleeving is rather precise due to the altering of the material at the molecular level if too much heat is applied or for too long of a period of time as well as slip plane in the crystal structure etc. I DO NOT know the process LPW uses to sleeve the motors but I do know if the same person has two or three cylinders drop sleeves there is a problem somewhere in the process, hopefully the two parties reach amicable resolve. However how do you replace a summer of lost ride time?
As for slow turn around I see it with pretty much every builder some are better then others. I waited something like 4 or 5 months for my Team Scream motor but when it came down to it Chuck got it to me by the deadline I gave him and it was done right, for the estimated $ he told me, and is in the top 2 motors I have EVER ridden, well worth the wait.
The dyno issue: yes I have also heard of the dyno but have never seen a printout or the actual machine. Does it exist or doesn’t it I really don’t know but I would think printed numbers would be unequivocal proof of the advantages or disadvantages to certain mods, porting or any number of variables to a setup. It is easy to claim something will give you a 10% increase in HP but without real data it is a seat of the pants gain.
I do see a very click-ish PRO-LPW sentiment on this site and anyone in the contrary is treated as antiestablishment. I am good friend of KennyJ who has a Fullthrottle motor and 24/7 ski. We both definitely felt like we were kept out of the group at the Cleveland ride because of it. We felt so uncomfortable we opted to skip the bar get together that night and the second day of the ride and rode a different beach the second day. I am neither pro nor con 24/7 Fullthrottle I know Mark but I have never had him do any work, not saying I would or would not have him do work, but I was treated like one of his cronies/anti-LPW just for knowing him. That is just one of many reason why I never post on this or really any ski sites anymore. I have a full life and don’t seek validation from the people on here or anywhere for that matter. I love to rip, I love to build and fix skis but I cannot stand how wrapped up in the social disorder people get on here. People it is the Internet any idiot with a keyboard can type (most can’t spell) something or make claims it doesn’t make it the truth, get over it already. I said my piece if you need me I’ll be in the surf upside down waving to you.
Feedback on individual sellers and or Businesses is welcome here at the X. We all want to know what type of people and or businesses we are dealing with. But there needs to be some groundrules setforth.
1. Whether you are leaving positive or negative feedback, please do so in a respectfull and mature manner. Do not call names, give threats, etc etc.
2. Give the facts as accurately as you can, remember they may come here and respond and if you were less than accurate it may backfire on you. Goes back to Respect.
3. If you have a deal that goes wrong, if in the future they do make it right, please post this also. We are all human, we all make mistakes, hopefully any mistakes that do arise is just that, a mistake. Let us know what happened.
4. failure to follows these simple guidelines will result in threads or post being deleted, possible ejection from the site. If you feel you need to cuss out joe blow, do so somewhere else, not here, take it to PM, EMAIL, Phone or the backyard.

So calling some one a bottom feeder on this forum even though you never dealt with them is not breaking rule #1?
Not jabbing here just wondering if the same rules apply on other threads????
are you trying to make this the biggest thread ever on the X?:wall:
