I got that wheel super cheap, fixed it, ran it in a few boats and it was fine until it backfired. Great paper weight now!

Is there anything you can do if you screw up the end of your crank a bit like from what i did above. I shouldnt have kept crankin it, but i seemed like it wanted to go after i let off the start switch.

Anyone know where to get the actual stock woodruff key besides yami? anyone know the price off hand?

I think if you damage the crank, you're screwed installing a new 1.

I ordered my key from Blowsion. Got it the next day. The key itself was only 5 to 6 bucks, but I needed it quick so shipping got me to 25 ish bucks.

The keyway in my crank got messed up a bit, but I think it cleaned up OK for now. If it holds til winter, I'll lap both surfaces for next season then. I torqued mine to 75 ft lbs.

In hindsight though. I should have ordered a couple more keys. They are cheap as $#!t. And don't take too long to switch out, even at the lake.

how do i do that yo?

put some lapping compound on the snout and spin your flywheel on a few times (no woodruff key of course). it helps make the 2 surfaces match better.

Just ordered a couple keys from the local shop. Less than 5 bucks for 2. 5 working days to wait though.
