Champ, if the floor ends up too slippery, you can sprinkle some fine quartz/silica aggregate stuff and seal over it, and it will be good to go! That is what we always used when we were pouring/stamping new walkways and garage floors...if that is what the customer wanted.

Can't seal polished concrete.
Can't even wax it.

My Dad and I built a 26x36 building over the past year and it has been a pain in the ass. We did have the concrete poured in one large slab without any cuts in it. I wouldn't sweat it. We're almost done with it, just one gutter to go, but it's nice!

Everyone on here bitching about how slippery the floor will be. We did the same process at our ford dealership. @The Duckster has seen it. We have 6 senior master techs, and 5 lube techs working on it daily and no issues.... but we also keep our ford service shop cleaner than most BMW stores. Our service shop is polished black concrete as well.

We did a Toyota dealership that sections of polished tile. They kept complaining tjat the rules were to slippery. The slip coefficients were not enough. Yet the polished c.o.f. was less when wet than the regular tile. They did not believe it. Problem was they kept patching sheetrock and the dust kept getting on the tile and you might as well be on ice. I kept going out there cleaning the area and showing them it was not the tile. This went on for weeks. Finally after they stopped cutting sheetrock and sanding and painting the problem went away.

If I could go back I would definitely do something different with my floor in my workshop. Looks like it's going to be very nice, so congrats. It's going to be a great investment.

A lot of dealerships do this in their shops, not slippery at all. Unless there's water on it.

That's going to be really nice! What do you put over the top of that polish to make it sticky? I've seen this in dealerships and always wanted some for home use!

There isn't anything on top. The surface is just so smooth it shines. Like a basketball court.... so much grip shoes squeak. But it must be kept clean. If you don't keep it clean, it becomes slippery. Not a floor for the slobs or lazy! Lol

Ok ok... i camt wait for them to build it, what are you going to do on the inside? Lifts, cabinets, work island, compressed air outlets throughout, and you said it was going to be heated and cooled, right? Will it have an attic, second floor, or rafters? No bathroom right? Sorry, im drooling over you floor so i cant imagine what you are doing with the rest!!!

Although there has been a fair amount of criticism there hasn't been much kudos. Good for you man! You have your life in order a lot more than most 29yo's. I'm envious as a mofo!!!
