Carb question for you 66E guys

I have a friend with a GP800. His stock throttle plates and throttle shafts are REALLY bent. All i can figure is that it had a huge backfire.
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has a cheap set of clean stock carbs out there that might want to sell them.

I was thinking that it might actually be cheaper to pick up carbs than try to get new throttle shafts and plates.

I have some, minus jets, n/s, diaphragms and cover plates $40 shipped.

That should work because we can take that stuff off his carbs. Do you have any pics?

I went out and snapped a couple pics but my computer isn't letting me upload them. they are in decent shape, no significant corrosion, one carb is missing the screws that hold it to the manifold.

i don't know if this helps but on the kawasaki 750/sxr's if its setup so u can pull to hard on the throttle it cracks/bends the throttle shafts over time.

Ha, you should see these things they are crazy bent. Like totally folded back.

if he had that strong of a backfire,the reeds should be smithereen also.
