Too many variables to be able to say yes or no. You're paying quite a bit more to save some weight but you'd also spend quite a bit more to increase the power out of your driveline to overcome the extra weight. When all is said and done, do you want to spend $5k-$10k on a lightweight hull to make your ski more capable or do you want to spend $5k-$10k on a really powerful engine to make your ski more capable?

I say save your money. Carbon hulls are often overrated and requires more finishing work
your also spending about 2k more to save about 15 to 20 lbs

BTW all of the Japs riders ride glass hulls and get more height than anybody

i think i would rather have the lighter hull AND the bigger motor lol im kinda a big guy anyways. i guess if it isnt the difference in being able to do flatwater flips/rolls then i would go with glass

By glass and bin the standard Gell Cell in favour of a Ballistic battery - there's your weight saving between carbon and glass for about $150.... Instead of $3k in the case of an XFS..

interesting point on the Japanese riders and glass hulls... I guess with 30-40 hp you really want a strong hull to whithstand the abuse they take at landings and the twist to the hull from torque...

They also weight 85lbs soaking wet at best and might reach 5', then there are people like me that are 215lbs at 6'3"

I had a Bullet Gen 1 and now I have a Carbon Trinity EVO pro. Unless you are being held back from a world title over 20lbs. or are pancakeing 15 footers you will probably enjoy the glass version of whatever hull and a more powerful motor setup you buy with the difference in dough. Or if you just like nice stuff then buy the carbon. Hope this helps. Just my 2cents

well i was worried too because i am a big guy, 6' 230lbs, i like engine work but glass i have never done and i hear carbon fiber is even harder... in other words i dont want to break by hull cuz i didnt get the stronger... are glass hulls stronger than carbon fiber hulls

About the Jap guys riding glass hulls. I have though about it too. BUT take a look at their hulls, they are porpuse made, they are SO tiny they make a XFS look petite!
Im getting more convinsed that short hull / crazy rocker is that key to getting big air compared to crazy light, or am i wrong here?
Allso i guess a hull can be too light to make a proper setup wake. I could easily imangie that the Jap/BUN style hulls would be to light, being so small if made in carbon?
I think my Carbon lenzi hull is were i couldnt be lighter, at ca. 50lbs. i think its hard to make a good setup wake.
