I guess a year isn't enough time for some people to make sure their ski is up to date with the correct paperwork .:loser:
for real.

how close do they look at fire extinguishers? mine is pretty rough, definitely does not work.
should I run with it, or should I plan on borrowing for inspection?
Georgia, for example, is a titless state, as are some others.

The problem is that there is not a uniform title/registration process in all of the 50 states.

Florida, on the other hand, is very strict and a title state for all watercraft.
IMO, with an event like this where riders bring skis from probably 40+ states, the authorities need to take all of that into consideration and act accordingly. Common sense, and the ability to collect visitor revenue, should be paramount for an event like this.
However, it appears it's not....
My ski is registered in my wifes name with our Florida registration. However, she will not be here and my drivers license is Wisconsin and NOT the address that is on the title and registration.
It'll be great if I get to drive 5 hours and spend $180 for hotel and $125 for gas to sit and watch (which I wont) because some beach patrol clown wont use common sense.
I forget who told me this, I think it was a water cop, but demonstration skis and competition skis can only be used in sanctioned events.
Otherwise, technically, the ski has to follow by the "standard" or "regular" rules.
So I will have to rig up a lanyard that looks legit and borrow a fire extinguisher.
Home-built or Custom hulls still require a valid HIN.
