Lopez is probably the best camping in the area, been going there for 40 years and have been there the last 4 saturdays. Lake is small but fun, clean and blown out every day after about noon but almost no traffic. Camping is quiet and mostly families.

The only thing to be aware of is they are very strict on the mussel ban and will inspect your ski every time you come in the gate. If it is not completely clean and dry they will not let you in so don't expect to ride Pismo then come straight to the lake.

Music Festival just got canceled, ha! Glad we didn't book another campsite yet.

Where does everyone camp? For the original weekend 11-14, any advise on booking a campsite? Do you have to specify a mile marker or site?

I plan to call the number listed tomorrow to get a site in advance: "Camping is allowed south of Post 2 on the beach and in the open dune area... Campsite reservation information can be obtained by calling 1-800-444-7275."

Call them and tell them you want to camp. Can be anywhere you find a spot. Jetski group hangs out around pole 4. Air your tires down to 15-20psi once you get on the sand it will help keep you from getting stuck.

We wound up spending a day fighting some trailer problems. In Wyoming now, excited to explore tomorrow.

We've got a bunch of funny looks having jetskis in snowmobile county :)
