coffman Pipe on 750sxi

95 Kawasaki 750SXI

Got a Coffman Rocket Pipe with a exhaust pipe instead of waterbox.
Got a Keihin Dual carb.
Im needing to know what high and low screws should be set as for this setup.
And (pardon my ignorance), what are the "Jets" and should i be concerned about altering them? and if so, what exactly are those and how would i go about changing that?
I just rebuilt the carb with a rebuild kit. And it came with new needle and gasket.
I just replaced the Bendix and starter because i had troubles starting it... But before that it attempted to start but died right when i gave it gas. Is that running lean or rich? and does jetting or altering screws fix that?

Also The bracket in the middle of the coffman pip is meant to mount to the engine. Im guess i have to make some type of metal bracket which shouldnt be too hard. But the place where it is suppose to mount has my throttle cables mounted to it. Am i suppose to move my throttle cables to a different location somehow?

Its a silencer or resonator, id hook it up, it helps with being too noisy , that pipe should perform somewhat ,decant looking chamber size. Good luck

Usually you do have to rejett , but it may luckily be right , might be best to take it to a kawasaki dealer, they can get it pretty close

Does it have a ss impeller ? It may be ok the way it is. Depending if that pipe makes any power? They didnt win too many races back in the day but were definately racing ,

Turning the screw not much 1/4inch less at a time. left is rich right is lean , go one way see if it gets better or worse then go the other way from were you started

After you determine if the low speed mixture is down ?if l remember and up for high speed mixture

And that's the problem with dual carbs you gotta turn both the same and hope there synchronized , l think kehins were easier to tune so try it going on the rich side , running lean can blow your motor

You should probably do is some high-speed passes after its warm and see if it idles after that and starts, it could be your crank seals, how many hours are on the motor?

I didnt even realize its a sxi , your ski should easily be 90hp its gonna be a fun ski ,

Stock is 70 75hp

Honestly a factory limited dry pipe is 27hp

You could run one carb with a different intake manifold, rejetted unless im mistaken -0-3.5 4hp

Anthony. I greatly appreciate your info! I live in idaho so im far away from good local kawi proffesionals. You wont believe this , but i just spent 2 hrs tuning my carbs on the lake. It would bog at 8% throttle if i had it 1/2 turn or 2 full turns. For high or low screw. I come home to your post and i feel so silly not realising it has two sets of screws to adjust on dual carbs. Im sure ill be in the clear for tuning now... but on that note, ill have to take the carb off for every little change on screw. Im tempted to get a single carb.

Also, i was able to get it riding flat on the water at 8% throttle which got the exaust out of the water... and boy is it loud. I was actually emberaced to give it gas with people around me. Can i get a quieter muffler? Or am i just going to be that guy..... i had to grind out my water box, so thats out of the question.

Low screw is strictly just for a steady idle and has no bearing on giving it throttle and it bogging down right? I found it was good at 3/4 turn with the thrttole screw slightly turned in as well to give it a bit of gas. But then again.... i was only accidently tuning for 1 carb instead of 2. User error. Just trying to plan for my next tuning session.
