Here are a few pics of my coil wire removal tool. It is made from a piece of stainless tube I cut the end and sharpened and twisted the teeth making a small hole saw with a deep throat.

I simply cut the coil wire off flush with the coil insert the tool and twist clock wise and it cuts out the coil wire leaving the coil spike untouched it takes about 10 seconds to remove the coil wire.

Patent pending LOL

great idea!

I was thinking something similar that would chuck into a cordless drill, but I guess the tee handle is fine for such soft wire cutting huh?

Yea it takes seconds to cut down to the end of the wire then you can just pull the plug of wire out of the tool. LOL at first I had it in a drill and it was like damn no need for that so I welded on a T handle.

I also found that Taylor Wire sells o resistance multi strand wire, I can get it from our local speed shop in bulk and every shop has the MSD boots and plug ends. I am sure you can find the wire down there also it is the stuff like JSS uses.

The factory epoxy chips right off and what is inside if any chips right off with the tool. No need for heat.

Install new wire
I use 2 part epoxy from Home Depot I think it is liquid nails brand. Just a very little on the wire slide it into the coil then just a dab around the top of the coil and wire to seal it up.

If you want to take it a step further and make them look as good as the JSS coil you can purchase braided poly mesh from McMaster Carr #9284K2 or any elec. supply house and use a short piece of heat shrink tube on each end of the mesh to make it look real nice.

Now you did it - someone's gonna jump in and start up about how you're stealing a business's ideas here.... (like in a previous post a few weeks back)

The 20 strand tinned copper is the way to go. I just used some 3bond on the coil to adhere the wire to the coil body. It has worked fine for years now and will be easily removable next time. I figured epoxy would be overkill. That tool is a great idea, you should make a few up, I bet you could sell them with no prob. I am good for one if you do.
