Super Jet Contacting Waterdawg Customz

I understand that most people that have commented here don't want to deal with Jeff because of possibly losing their money ( though probably most that have commented do not have any personal dealings they can quote) going by what others have said. My question is a little off topic. Is or has anyone been dissatisfied with a WDK part once it has been received? Have there been bull failures such as cracking, leaking, gel coat failure? Any small parts failures? Any dry pipes or wet pipes cracking? Anything of that nature? My question is purely informational and not to cause an uproar as I have been happy with the products I have used that were purchased from an outside vendor. Generally speaking, people that have received WDK products, are they happy with them? Thanks for your feedback.

Not sticking up for him...because I have not dealt with him in a few years now ....just saying I have seen epoxied cases fail from many many builders! IMO it can not be made to be permanent and I will never run epoxied cases again. All of my friends and my own orders were perfect and are holding up very well.

I can't answer that because I have never witnessed him do less than well for anyone. I have only read stuff here that I can not confirm.

I bought and paid for a f1pro about 3 years ago that was "on the shelf and ready to ship".Fast forward 6 weeks with the usually barrage of emails and unanswered phone calls. My Amex bill comes in to pay for it and l disputed the charge and that was the end.

Seriously,l'm glad you had a good experience with Jeff and l also bought a Rok later on and thought the hull was professionally built.WDK did a great job.No complaints there.Just some peeps he seems to burn. There really is no pattern.

These are the types of stories that blow my mind. You got burned by him and bought not just another part....but another hull! Honestly I have yet to read a story about him that makes and sense at all...sorry...but the stories I read are shady and don't make sense...

I am running stock cases after epoxy broke loose in my fancy ported cases (non-WDK) creating an air leak

So it seems the main issue people have with Jeff is lack of communication, not the quality of workmanship? Is it possible that at one point the interest for his products exceeded his ability to "wear all hats" ? Does Jeff have any vendors that carry/stock his parts?

So he took your money and never delivered? You actually got ripped off and never received the product or your money back? I'm just curious because it seems like everyone has something to say about this guy, yet most of them have no experience with him.

This is a old forum. A lot of people have come and gone from this scene, and I believe Jeff has been around just as long. Hell I've only been riding for like 4 years and know two people who finally gave up on getting their parts or their money.

Just because someone isn't on today, right now, to say 'yes, Jeff screwed me over' does that mean the reputation has zero foundation?

I have no doubt that the search function can answer find more information than you asking blindly in a post. There are a lot of threads that discuss this one company.

But maybe you can save yourself the effort though. Look at the responses from the members who have been on here much longer than you and I. Listen to their comments.

I believe a lot of his products are quality, although a member and guy I ride with had to modify nearly every bolt on the Rok that he bought (used) because the plates were too shallow, and if he ran the bolts down without checking each one, it would have cracked the hull/gel. He found out the hard way on one bolt and had to check each one beyond that.

But he's not gonna get on here and tell you, he barely gets on period. That's a good example. Also, nobody is gonna say "Yeah, my hull is a pile of crap" cause then, when they go to sell it, everyone knows.

Good luck in your search. I know people have had success with buying COD from Jeff, maybe it'll work for you as well.

Bolt length verification applies to all new AM hulls fwiw. All hull builders will tell you to verify. Just saying. My question was about hulls cracking, leaking, gel popping off etc. Parts failure. I guess what I'm asking is, is wdk 's downfall Jeff or his parts because there are plenty of examples of his hulls and parts lasting along time and people making a lot of money copying his designs so they must be good. Like before, is Jeff the issue or the parts?

He used to have trouble with earlier hulls not lasting. Seems much better now.

Lots of hulls still clicking along. Learning curve on layup can take time, there are builders dealing with that right now thou we might not hear about it. The not delivvering after payment is unacceptable and all Jeff. Like I said, if you take Jeff out of the WDK is there an issue with WDK? Really not trying to argue, fanboy for Jeff or anything, just asking? Do the hand poles break, hood pins fail, pipes crack, manifolds need re welded, steering not fit or fail, etc? In general is what I'm asking.

At this point, the problem isn't with his parts but rather his (past?) reputation, solidly built over more than a decade.
