Super Jet Cooling Issue

I'd be lost without the x
So I installed a brand new b pipe on a otherwise stock 08 sj engine back in february. had the entire engine out of the ski at the time so i had to reassemble the cooling lines.

well i finally put it in the water today. started it up, getting ready to tune it and i notice not water is coming out of the pisser, run it for a little longer and all i can get is a dribble out.

i have only single cooling set up like factory suggests. so inlet from jet pump to bottom of exhaust manifold, from the cylinder head to the top of the head pipe, then out the bottom of the head pipe to the t going to the pisser and stinger. i also have a fcv on the line going to the stinger.

i also noticed a small amount of water building up in the bottom of the engine compartment. not a ton but just something to note since i didnt ride too much and dont see how water could get in from the short ride.

I have the top screw on the pipe open one full turn.

i plan on taking the line off and trying to blow them out but getting the lines off of the bottom of the head pipe and manifold is going to be difficult. i figure it is a clog in the cooling lines but just want to make sure im not doing something wrong here.

the one thing i didnt do when installing the pipe was i didnt rotate the outlet on the bottom of the head pipe so that it pointed towards the back of the ski like the instructions say. that shouldnt be an issue however right?

if anyone has any simple methods for checking for a clogged line let me know.

thanks for the help

do you have water going into the chamber? how do you have it T'ed off with the straight part of the t going to the pisser or to the chamber?

im set up the same way and was having truble getting water to flow into the chamber.

you guys should try filling the head pipe from the bottom so it fills up and overflows out the top. like a carb is setup. in the bottom out the top, this way it is always full.

straight goes to pisser, 90* goes to stinger with FCV

if you restrict it properly, yes. did you try posting in the group, i am not so sure you even need to join anymore and how to officially do it either, just post over in the thread and we will figure it out. you can get a sticker if you do. haha. you should come to the ride in two weeks.

thanks for the help d-roc. i will switch around the pisser and the stringer on the t.

i guess i'll just blow the lines out, see if there is clog somewhere

this is how i have mine set up http://www.factorypipe.com/media/instructions/yamaha/701BL01.pdf the pic at the bottom..

i had to use a 4 mm restrictor at the pisser to get water to flow into the chamber thats how im set up now.... i tried to use the straight part of the t to the chamber with the fcv but it wasnt enough pressure to open the fcv so i cut a 1/4'' off the spring on the fcv and im going to try that next time..

you should water test with out the fcv first...

are you sure all of your water isnt dumping into the chamber???

not sure if it is dumping into the chamber but im pretty sure it isnt. everything got pretty hot after initially running the engine.

and mine is set up the same as you minus the 4mm restrictor

you must have a clog. but that pic on fb site seems like a good starting point with single cooling. dont use the fcv intill you get everything tuned

once i get some water flowing i'll take the fcv out to tune.

where abouts on long island are you located? i have some family who live on the bay in lindenhurst
