Cooling line on off valves

Sitting with my grandma in the hospital and noticed these.

Think I saw these on JD's franky fx to block his hand warmers in the summer. Would work great for this application too. Can prob fit them next to your pump if the cavity is wide enough to fit your hand beside it. Or just loop lines to the rear before going thru hull.

I just think something like this would be the simplest and idiot proof. A multi tool in a dry pak with a few zip ties is a great get-you-back tool kit. You can use couplers like above between the bulk head and the manifold on dual cooling setups. Loosen 4 hose clamps and close both loops. All that other nonsense (except the pinch clamps) are way over complicated. If you need fancy shut off valves and etc, then you need to figure out why your ski is getting towed so often that this is even a concern.

Electrical failures are the main thing this was meant to address, bad cdi, dead battery, etc.

The idea here is something you hope to never use. To the belittlers, its probably going to be you that gets towed next...

Nothing is 100% reliable.

@Vumad you mad

RTF sends it. Wasn't uncommon to be breaking chit daily. I think we're a little past that nowadays but chit still happens.

These are all things you consider and figure out along the way

Why would I be mad? Its a conversation. Im not emotionally invested in it. I was towed plenty when my main ski was an x2. The duck pond guys just shoved their gloves into the pump.

I just dont think a chance of water ingestion on the chance of breaking down on the chance that its a long tow is worth the chance of a over heated motor.

Why not a shut-off valve where the line comes out of the pump? Your in the water anyways cuz your ski is dead, reach in beside the pump, turn the valve and done, nobody borrowing your ski will confuse a dash mounted valve for a fuel selector.

DSCF0371.JPG DSCF0370.JPG This worked on my SXR , I looped a hose up and around the engine and made that access panel useful. I had to use it twice in the surf and it worked great! IDK if some sort of panel could be put in other ski's I was just glad to utilize what was already there. Cheap, easy and very useable for me. My 2 cents

Have been there after being towed with my ski upside down on the slipway....Its a right PITA! I think the easiest option is having some cable ties in your hull then just pop your hood and fold over the cooling lines and secure before the tow.....easy to cut off then when you get back.
