I dont sell very much stuff on CL. Everytime I I try to get rid of something the scammers send me emails. Copy the messages they sent you and post here.

Got this one this morning. They all have a story.

They are all easily identified by never naming what it is they want to buy. It's always the "item" in my ad.
I used to screw with them.
I got tired of it. My standard response now is: my "item" is indeed still for sale. Local pickup only.

I have never gotten a single response back after using that line.

However, when someone recently claimed to be a Marine Biologist who wanted to buy my 36ft fifth wheel for his dad and ship it to him, I could not resist. My response: "Please accept this complementary dildo and go yourself"

He didn't respond back either.

I had somebody try and scam me for a house rental once. He had a legit ad not even on CL, but on a rental site. His responses were weird (he was stationed overseas, wanted a deposit, etc) and then I found the house was actually for sale (not for rent) by the real owner - he just stole all the pics and info from the MLS listing to make his bogus ad.

Hmm hearing impared or the one before him said that the satellites were down so no phone service.

I wonder if Scammers are fulltime or only scam on the side.

Lots of the scammers ask straight up for your paypal email addresss to transfer the money. If you're dumb enough to go along with it you will get a fake paypal email confirming the transfer. The next step is they pick up the item for sale with you thinking the whole time the money is in your account.

I never respond to emails trough CL, seems like they're always out of state, never had a problem with putting my phone number on there. The serious ones will call or text.

I was trying to get an apartment off CL once. Should of saved the email. But the 'landlord' wanted all kinds of personal information and said he was a priest in Nigeria. Negetive 10-4 on that one.

LOL i buy and sell on craigslist like my life depends on it lol. I got a email one day for a ktm 85 i was selling and the guy gives me this whole long story about how he works on a oil rig in the sea and cant make it to buy the bike inperson and how his buddy will be handling all this for him so i replay back ok sure call me. next email says i just need some info so i can arange payment and pick of this PRODUCT. I was like product you DUMB MOTHER F#$KER its a dirt bike not a PRODUCT so ovioulsy i then figured out about the craigslist toolbag scammers. I WANT TO KILL THEM ALL WHOS WITH ME.

i give them rediculous names and get fake certified checks from them with names like "Cheeks Preddar" on them, its always fun to mess with them.

So the deal looked to good to be true but I investigated anyways. I seen an ad on craigslist for a really nice looking 2001 Toyota Tacoma sr5. So I asked for more details.

I then asked for a phone number so I could talk in person. And got thos.

I know this is a scammer, seen this type before but thought I would post.
I know I wont hear back from him.. but am just curious as to what they do if you send them the PP money request and they pay you. What do they do then???
