i think hondabond 4 is the same as yamabond 4. Idk for sure. Search it, Chuck was talking about it a few days ago.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

it says it is resitant to fuel. Maybe you didn't use it right. :poke:

Resistant, not impervious.

The only thing I can figure is I was using the Permatex version and it was a different formulation.

I still use hylomar on other stuff, just not the cases.

Halomar stays soft and needs a flatter surface than you typically get with a crankcase. Loctite 515 or 518 works good, 515 is recommended for aircraft engine cases. The newer Permatex Ultra RTV also works good if applied sparingly and assymbled fast.

The bottom line (IMO) is that nothing on the market can compete with the bonding and sealing characteristics of ThreeBond 1211. It's just the best product available currently. It's a little pricey, but a tube will seal about a million engines. All the others work ok in certain situations, but can fail and leak if you have any gaps. It also works awesome for sealing threads, gaskets, gluing crank seals, and about anything else that happens to ail you.

I have used it on 3 engines with no issues yet.
