Jett,

Have you ridden the ski with the cut plate yet?

Yes, twice. I like it, seems to jump a little easier, even with my waterlogged foam that causes the right side bondrail to sit 3" underwater.

My buddy just rode with his Blowsion Composite D cut plate last Saturday. Said he really liked it compared to his R & D Rec plate. Too bad he snapped his UMI handlepole and sank his ski the same day.:banghead: hyperextension of the handlepole = bad

We use standard gallon paint can lid for template works great. I just recently did mine and at higher speeds I noticed no ill handling or planing effects at all. Nose just comes up quicker and stays up. I have plain hull no sponsons/tubbs.

okay...what does this do for handling? Am I missing something...I like long ride plates and I hit the surf with 'em.....cut the length down seems crazy to me. Help me understand!!!

^^^^^^^Read back through the thread! It gets the nose of the ski out of the water more for freestyle/freeride......the boat will not handle as good....... it is not a mod you do for racing, just playing around.......probably aimed more toward flat water. imo

I have also heard it will give you a better setup wake, as the ski will plow through the water more.

It's actually a surf mod... or was at first...
It makes for some good carving

I D cut my jet dynamics plate, and it's made a real nice difference... it seams too keep some nice straight line tracking, carves decent in the waves, but breaks free much more predictably than the stock D cut plate I had before.
