I thought I did but now i'm not so sure, i was trying to find that jetmaniac thread that brian was taking about to see, I have the 155 shaft for mine that uses the big bearing and I made it the same length as a superjet shaft. Im wondering if its too short now

Big bearing is only for set back pumps. reg width bearing for reg housings. the 155 pump is set back further than the 144/148 housing. you will end up with approx 1/2" worth of engagement.

Jetmainiac post from last year. If you look you can clearly see that the rear stator housing is further back on the 155 than the 148. You can do this but order a shaft from JM or make your own. If you are running a low hp motor it may work for a while, but for an aftermarket hull I have seen the firewalls off by up to .125" so you could end up with less than a 1/2", then the end taper is cut different on every shaft so you lose a bit there. Throw in an SBT or WSM or other mid shaft and ... :( Rememeber all the added issues with midshaft press, they should be in 20mm, some arent. Some aftermarket mid shafts wont go in that far.

I forgot!
I used the front superjet bearing but the 155 shaft did have a longer bearing on the front. I have never checked the engagement until now. I need 14mm more engagement. On the rickter I may be able to make that up. I will keep you posted on that.

So basically make the shaft an extra half inch? I should have compared the two when I had boths pumps out on the table but never thought of it. Classic

Imperial whats that? :) I had about 14mm listed, but changed it as 14mm is much more specific than saying 1/2", if i was specific id say .500" that is the only down fall to mitric IMO. I didnt want to imply a specific size or range, as people start to order parts, cut things down etc. There are a bunch of variable here. Now as far as suppliers for said shaft, for Set back pumps Skat, H20, and JM all should have shafts for those. Possibly Skat but deffinitely JM for the non set back stocker. Measure up and order length you want from JM. but like I always say, by the time you order a prop, shaft, bearings, seals, find a pump and wear ring, how much did you really save from buying a used 155 set back or non? once a few more 155s hit the market the price will drop and all of this will not matter. look at 144s, 4 years ago they were 650 USD, now you cant give a housing away.
