Tight is right. Not much room for a 155 pump. In the pump tunnel. RRP 155 pump shoe is not very matched. I had to grind a lot and now it doesn't align well. The "circle" is off to where the pump bolts up. It's not too bad but it's not perfect like it was in my superjet. The pump also will not go far enough forward even if I strap it in and beat it forward. I need 2-3 mm more. It's good thing all the required grinding is shedding weight. Lol. @sned can you post a pic of your pump in your ski, I would like to see how much room you haVE AROUND TRIM AND water inserts by the pump shoe. Mine rubbed the pump until my mallet moved them.
. Funny how a 155 pump tunnel requires more grinding than my superjet did.
I did a bunch of grinding on the bolt holes for the pump and was able to get the holes opened forward enough to bolt the pump in. I check for leaks around the pump seal with a led light and I could not get it to perfectly compress the seal around the the top. So, I used a small bead of RTV sealant and now it is sealed up. I had to do this on the SJ-f too. I know it is messy but I would hate having to do it later if I get cavitation. I have been sealing my pumps like this for years so I know it works. The pump shoe could have been opened up more near the bottom. I did not measure it but I wonder if it is a true 155mm diameter up and down. Side to side I was able to align it a bit better when I clearanced the bolt holes. It allowed me to move it over a bit. It's not perfect but I am sure it is good enough to not hinder any performance that I would feel. basically the pump tunnel could be 25mm bigger on each side. That would make things so much better and then move the cooling lines and trim line inserts away from the pump shoe so you don't have to grind your brand new RRP pump shoe to put it in your XFS. The pump inserts could be centred a bit better in accordance to where the centre of the RRP pump shoe is. New Xfs should probably already address these issues. I lost the set screw for my trim cable at some point of the in and out of the pump. But I found it. Pretty stoked!
Yes this is how I compressed the pump seal. Very awkward to watch me do I am sure.
Ah the motor alignment went well. These adjustable motor mounts are sweet. Slide that motor all over the place. Just playing around with locations of stuff.
With the mild weather I have open water on my creek. Just need it to flood a bit.
