okai run a restricter as well did you take any action too stop the leaking 0 ring ???

It was this billet 16 mil for ref, also I plugged the 2 center pissers.

Ok so to answer your question, yes I removed the head and pulled the domes, I put the domes on top of cylinder with no orings and pushed the dome around in all directions and could feel the top of my billit cylinder was shaped like a bowl, low in the center and high around the edges. it's on last bore so decided to hand lap the cylinder till over haul. I used this stone, on the light course side of stone and some light oil like wd40 and fogging oil, and with light to no pressure, ran the stone over the deck in a future 8 pattern and back and forth, side to side until the deck was flat. New orings and good to go... new orings about ever 6 months and just a light stoning of deck to clean.

In January I developed a leak between the cylinder & case, mine is rtv no gasket. I found the cylinder was coming Loose from the case and one titanium cylinder bolts head broke off and the bolt backed out, 3 other cylinder bolts lost correct torque. A few hours before I found those cylinder bolt issues, the rear carb came loose, and the bar between the carbs backed off almost completely and the coupler between the carbs came loose.., engine out for overhaul now

Hi, sorry for the late response been away a couple of days. I´m starting to think the motul 800 could have something to do with it. I had similar issues in a superjet 760. Stopped using motul and the plugs never failed...However this machine had been running on motul since the start and should be fine according the previous owner whos been a pro racer in the states. It got twin blackjacks and they are practically new...

I ran the same plugs on my dasa 1100. Tim at TNT did a big write up on here about plugs and using the br9eya so I went with what he said.

Ran mint, noticeably better than with the br8es.

If your plugs are wet and black it sounds mega rich. When we’re the carbs last stripped and setup?

My theory with the SJ 760 was that the engine temp never came high enough to really burn off the ester in Motul and kind of piled up on the stock plugs. Its made for long WOT sessions offroad on land. But i would love to use it since the protection is superb. Never really thought of this until now since i figured the dasa might reach a higher operating temperature.

Anyone using estercore 2 stroke?

Oh and by the way, i never gapped the br9eya. is it necessary? Sounds like a good idea though. If it should be gapped do you have any recommended specs?
0.6mm The gap out the box is about 0.8 - 0.9mm
If it still fouls ,you have an ignition problem
Porting and compression affect the gap you can run

Just curious how cold your engine runs, if you have 4 pissers off your head and are you running any restricters, also how cold is the water your riding in.

Water around here is around 65 in summer, with 2 pissers off head with no restricters I run about 105F cylinder head temp so I have to restrict, 2.77 mm is the largest I use, 2.0 is the smallest I use in winter when water is around 53f or less, i have some inbetween sizes . I get about 130f ish head temp restricted as mentioned with 2 pissers.

Found this chart on Google, have no idea if it's close to your water temps or not.

Good chart you found. That is probably true every summer but this one. We've had California weather since may. I would say water temp ranges from 68 as the coldest to 75 F this summer
Yep got 4 pissers on the head and no restrictors. You think it might be running too cold?

Sorry was busy with company stay over. I checked a few lakes I ride in summer and they are that warm and warmer. However my ski doesn't have issues when I ran it cold but I don't run that oil. You might check your engine temp, you gotta do it quick though, ride it like you normally do and quickly stop and rip the hood off and read it with a temp gun or temp tap strips put on head. The engine heat soaks and temp start rising very fast once you stop so the quicker you read it the more accurate you'll be. Not sure how much colder 4 pissers will be than two. My pisser water restricted is warm/hot to the touch. Yours may feel cold, like lake water.

No problem, im thankful for all the help from everyone.

So thats another great idea with the stickers. Ordered some Omega non reversive stickers so i dont have to pop the hood fast. If it reaches a temp it will stick. However it sounds like a great thing to have anyway so i got some reversible aswell. Good idea!

Sofar plugs gapped to 6 mm, gonna check the engine temp once the stickers arrive. If it all looks good and it still goes out cold after 1 hour of riding I guess ill have to start with a coil swap and make a prayer its gonna help. Otherwise its the CDI and if I´m not gonna pay another 1100 dollars its gonna be a stator swap aswell cause i guess the total loss stator won´t work with a stock CDI?

Gonna check the one way valve aswell, cause that is a funny one not to check... Remember a guy turning it the wrong way and the machine actually went great until 3/4 of a tank. Then it just didn´t go at all... Really don´t think its a problem in this case though

Most use reversible stickers, mine are a temp range of 104f to 212f and light up in 3 colors to indicat slightly above, at or slightly below indicated temp. On the dasa I put on front and rear edge of the head and can read each cylinders head temp individually. I found My rear cylinder ran 14 deg colder than the front, the cause ended up being rear carbs idle circuit L screw port over meters fuel when set the same as the front carbs L screw.

My surf motor I just have one temp sticker on top the head, I cut the end off so it would fit.

Your still gonna need to get to shore and rip the hood off quickly to get an accurate temp reading before it hot soaks. You won't need to ride for an hour before you check. Just ride close to shore, ride like you normally would for 5 or ten minutes. Get to shallow water quick and rip the hood off and read it.

Iam using old carb seats that I drill out for restricters, you could use a metal or plastic plug and drill out in various sizes below 3mm. Carb seats work good as they have a lip to grab with pliers to get them out of the hose

Yes you are totally right. Ofcourse I need to rip of the hood. You even wrote it before so I don't really know what I was thinking . Anyway I think the omega ones will be great for this test because they are extremely accurate. Some people complained about the accuracy and readability of the reversible ones here in Europe so I ordered some from the states. But that takes 14 days and I hope to test this sooner

Harbor, what happens when you don't use the restrictors? Will it run too cold and build up residue on your plugs or do you notice any negative side effects?

I wondered if some cylinder scuffing I was seeing could be caused by running an engine too cold.

Edit: Btw., I had switch out the cooling line crimp style clamp too screw style clamps to keep from blowing a cooling line off.. When you start restricting, make sure all your cooling line screw clamps are tight as hell and carry a couple clamps and a tool to tighten one if needed. Pay attention to your pisser water spray pattern and volume, if you blow a line off you'll notice less flow at the pisser. The Rrp pipe use plastic Y fittings on both the incoming water lines, I've pop one line off the Y in the past. Doesn't happen any more, I just make sure the s few clamps are tight.

I think you should start sourcing a new CDI for your TS2, summer is gonna leave you behind. It's not your plugs, it's not because the waters 5' warmer this year. What's wrong with owning a spare CDI if I am wrong?

Actually i got a spare CDI and you are totally right, When my stocker blew on my superjet I bought 2 cause as you said... Summer left me behind :)

However, i do not have a stock stator and i guess the total loss of summer one don´t fit with a stock CDI? Oh and by the way, don´t have a stock flywheel either.

Anyone have a clue what´s compatible? As you said, it´s good to have spare parts home and not 14 days away even though UK got some in stock aswell

Here's a tricky one atleast for me. There is no vent hose or check valve. The vent hose is clipped and it will not let anything in or out. Isnt some of the pressure built up using the vent hose to the tank? I've seen superjet run like crap if you turn the one way valve in the wrong direction not letting air into the tank. Just thinking. Cart tank feeds tank at firewall.
