like you said, it's no big deal; but he wasn't the only one who tried to get out of paying; i know of several riders who didn't pay the whole time they were there riding

Here's where the problem begins. Beach patrol is very helpful and put up with a lot that weekend. Just think of how much extra work it was for them. Yeah, they probably thought is was cool at first, but it turns in to work real quick especially when you can not join in the fun. And then on top of it someone is trying to cheat them out of a beach pass. When Tim and I rode in the hummer to pic our skis up from our St. Augustine ride, the life guard commented on how they were going to have to change things for next year because it was hard to get everyone to register. So thanks to all the diks that chose not to register, it probably will lead to more policing and structure. I love it when people take advantage of a good thing.

Yeah I hear ya....that, AND the dang couches that started showing up. I mean yay...they are into the sport, but I guess they didnt get the memo that the stand up riders dont feel like getting hit with a fiberglass whale.

I saw like two big skis, and they were well on the outside both times I saw them. Obviously you aren't talking about blasters.

One of the beach patrol guys was out on an SPX for a while, causing problems because he was actually pretty good and flying around too fast. He cut me and a bunch of others off quite a bit.

I talked to Nick about it, flagged him down, introduced myself and explained what was happening and if he could ride to one side or the other and he was completely cool with that.

Sometimes, you just gotta make the effort in a respectful way and it all works out.
