That is true. The bad part is that it sounds like it may have been a couple role models of the sport. I did witness it first hand. The Beach patrol officer said to a big well known group parked real close to me "make sure you guys check in with me" and it was like all of the sudden nobody could speak english. I could see how ticked off he was so I repeated it real loud and slowly for them.
Overall Beach patrol thought the event was great and that is not because of the donation. That is because most everybody came with a good attitude, followed the few simple rules, and there were no major incidents.
I promise I will not post anything negative anymore about the event. Some things can just get to me. I had a great time. Sherry and I loved hanging out with everyone. I have a bunch of pics and video I will start posting this weekend.

Now that evb talkin bout it; I don't think they charged me. My skis were on the beach already, so I went up to register. I filled out four sets of pwk and the head rescue guy (the guy with the two Honda three-seaters) said he would come down to check out my skis but never did (must have looked too innocent to have anything wrong). Talked with him and the other guys quite a bit throughout the event...they were all super cool and even checked me out when I got re-injured. I told them how evb was commenting on how cool they were, and they just beamed with pride. They said we were the best group they ever had...very professional, excellent behavior, and that we didn't leave trash all over the place. They said they had an AWA group in a few years back, and that they would never return. I think they enjoyed it as much as we did, for they said they look forward to us returning.

I'm glad i found a helmet at the last posible moment, or else i would have had to bring a bicycle helmet. Trust me, nothing would have stopped me from comming. Everyone was so cool to talk to.:haha: :haha:

Dude, until the new blaster custom is done..I am stuck riding couch.. I came out, rode in from Ponce Inlet on a Light Blue Beast of a 3 seater.... stayed to the outside, paid the piper, wore a real helmet, took some pics and got the hell outta there while still staying free of the main action area the whole time... I think as long as we stay out of the jet ski free ride area it should be ok for us to come over by ski to watch only... if I was wrong on that note I sincerly apologize and will not do it again.. just say the word..

I hope that sit downs are welcome as spectators ONLY...
I wanted to ride that day.. the weather was perfect and it was a kick ass ride all the way there in the air... I just think as long as sit downs stay the hell outta the way it should be cool for them to beach just to the side of the ride area and snap a few pics man... come on.. don't be so stingy with the fun ey?

Cant it just be a standup/blaster event? I don't like sharing. We get dissed all year long. Come with your Blaster. A blaster is not a couch. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . "NO OFFENSE"

I agree. We always talk about growing the sport. Many people get started on couches, get bored and then start with stand ups and blasters.

I understand why Nick did not want a bunch of couches in the ride zone (safety) but someone sitting on the beach enjoying the ride is not doing any harm.

I also saw some couches, but I saw them taking awesome vids for us and towing in some broke SJ's, I thought it was cool of them and didnt mind it at all. The group next to us was all couches and helped us keep our boats from gettin pumbled when tide came up. Cool guys and gals. It is a freeride Right? I dont own couches, but if I did I would bring one for vids and help. I might even try a nose stap on a 3 seater too.
