People are just too scared nowadays and think carrying a gun makes them less likely to get mugged.

It sure makes them feel safer.

I would of been on my toes in that situation and would not let them get the jump on me. That would of been a hairy situation and you did the right thing getting the hell out of there. If it don't seem right, it normally isn't.
I have not owned a gun since my law enforcement days but I have been looking for a .40 for a while now.

Why bother carrying a gun? Do any of you actually have it in you to shoot a person? I like to act like a tough guy and say yes I would, but I know deep down I wouldnt be able to pull that trigger and take someones life. The only time I think I could do it is if my family was in immediate danger and shooting the person was the only option.

I don't have a gun, xkawi550x.

I carry a knife on me everyday of the week even at work. Nothing major, wouldn't do any damage... usually just use it to get tie wraps undone and other stuff. Blade is only 4 inches long.

But, its like taking a knife to a gun fight.
My girlfriend had her pepper spray on her, I guess that would have been better than my little knife. Once you have a gun pointing at you, what you do and what you said are two different things.

Sounds like you had a good business deal with a reputable person.

He has more to loose having you meet him at HIS place. I try to limit the number of strangers who know my address. He trusted you first.

It might have been just a nursery. Many of the people who work in such places get paid with cash. Which might suggest security might be required.

If everyone who had a gun was a bad guy, it would be easy to fix.

The MAJORITY of citizens who carry arms are just taking advantage of their rights as citizens.

He didn't say or act any way that was improper, did he?

I think your girl got you freaked.

By exposing his weapon he acted improper .He would lose his license to carry and be ordered to the ground and disarmed by police if you did that here .

Well, he was a nice guy... worked with my schedule and I worked with his. Concealed means no one see's it. I know accidents happen, but for a little white honkey like me with a little knife.... I stand no chance lol.

Maybe I should take advantage of my rights and get one. Im not a hot head what so ever, people cut me off... cuss at me... what ever... Im still professional as I can be. Would probably never take one's life unless my family was in very much danger like a robber with a gun or similar situations in my own home.

Tell me the address (or just the cross streets) and I will tell you how close you came , I use to live in Miami for many years and it is not uncommon for people to be packing heat in almost any neighborhood there. In the good areas for protection against the guys with the Escalades from the bad areas!
