Gotcha. Big washers would get you by in a pinch. Just spreading the load and contact point of the bolt/nut. Be sure to use large washers with the plywood, small washer would try and pull thru the wood.

It's starboard, not plywood. "The original and leading marine grade boat plastic polymer sheet building material."
But agreed on the washers

Make sure it doesn't rock front to back with the pole standing up installed.

My pole bracket area fiberglass is ready to rip out on my hull. I have a lot of work to fix

Is there a special tensioner spring for the aura or will a 96 SJ fit ? The anchor points for the spring aren't lining up

That is probably the part I hate most about working on a ski, the dreaded pole tubes through the bracket and hull. Always a hard time knuckle buster even with soaking them in Windex for me.
2 people is insanely easier.
