I'm not even 40 and sweets and alcohol are slaying me in the weight dept... of course stress adds to weight, and i'm pretty sure I eat sweets and drink B/C of stress. Yay...

You old guys rock BTW. @skinnyman and Mark (another guy from our group who is old but refuses to act like it) are secretly my hero's.

I just thoroughly enjoy working out ( I know that sounds crazy). I work out at 5:30 AM and it just starts my day off right. Nowadays I do it to stay trim, but more importantly to keep up with my kids. They are very active as far as hiking, rock climbing, snowshoeing, cycling, every type of water sport, so I need to be able to keep up so I don't slow them down, and so they continue to invite me to do fun stuff with them.

Well guys I went to more of a plant based diet almost 2 years ago and it changed my life. I will be 48 this month and my attitude sleep patterns are way better. I don’t get nearly as sore with a lot of surf riding even in the choppy rough stuff. If I do get sore it’s minimal and my recovery is quicker. I also do yoga at least twice a week. I changed my lifestyle for multiple reasons but basically the only meat I will eat now is shell fish as I am allergic to any kind of fin fish. As I eat cleaner I have found I drink alcohol minimal now also. So i guess it’s the whole package. Not saying what I’m doing is the answer for everyone but it works great for me

I'm 52 now, and while I haven't been riding jetskis in 10' surf, I have been riding a Skyski for like umpteen years, tons of inverts, crashes, injuries, and great memories. I got into jet skis a couple years ago & only ride lakes pretty frequently now days. I certainly don't punish myself as much anymore but appreciate what you guys are talking about. I do a 30 - 45 minute routine every morning.....yoga, weights, pushups, eliptical, inversion table, etc. If I don't do that routine for 2 or 3 days, I really pay the price.
Your not alone. Most people lose control of it though. The trick is maintaining it as much as possible

P.S. as for vision.... Somehow I am still at like 20/50, far sighted. I can read a PC, cell phone or whatever fine, it's the street signs 100' away I have a problem with. Go figure. Eat your carrots.

the dueling diet testimonies are confusing. plant based ^^^^ vs the keto diet. both have people who swear by them and how they make them feel. ive got to figure out something relative to my diet. i think thats my problem but changing is so difficult :(

l look at it this way, plant based diets have been around for a while and keto not so much.lt has it points but how long can you keep it up.What about Paleo? That may work for you

I can appreciate the interest in what type of food you eat. I also appreciate the endeavor shown by most to "keep keep'in on". I am curious if people are really looking into "what" type of food they eat. Where did it come from, when, what soil, grown under sunlight or artificial, these really play a large part that I don't hear any discussion about. Try growing some of you own and then you will "know" about your food not "believe" about your food. Something that should be looked at is the pharmaceutical intake as well as other toxins in your environmental situation. Good luck guys, keep talking and making suggestions and we can all do better. Have a great day.

We have been growing (and keep adding more) organic veggies for a few years now to accommodate our way of "knowing" where our food comes from.Bigger plans for next year by adding more raised boxes. Here is a few pics of this years garden. We all watch now what we eat.My son is learning to become a nutritionist,so that helps too

Looks good man. I have a small plot and we are fortunate that our small town has a lot of people growing to share and trade with. Beef and chickens are home raised too. Definitely a location thing but doesn't hurt to show people the fruits of your labor. Have you guys looked into your food storage and packaging from a store. Look into the chemicals that leach into food from plastic, any reduction could help a lot.

I would eat eggs and chickens,if we either raised them ourselves or knew where they came from. After finding out a few years back of all the crap that is fed to them,as well as feeding chickens back their dead and diseased friends l had enough. You can't get any worse.

Well if you want worse look at the food additive Senomyx and all the food products it's in. I have read on here several seemingly heated conversations concerning what to eat and how this or that "diet" is better. I feel that if we concentrated on our food quality and helping each other with conversations along those lines we could all benefit. Have a great day guys and gals.
