Drop Hitches... Smh

It’s irritating enough when people with lifted trucks drive around with their 12” drop hitch still attached, just to show how big their balls are. Of course, they’re not towing anything, but you know.. just incase. Anyway, I digress - that’s a topic for another day.

Today I spotted a peculiar looking truck and wanted to share, so that maybe you too, could get a laugh. This thing was hanging off a non-lifted ram, and nearly scraping the ground.

I leave mine in not for my ball size, but because I tow with my truck multiple times a week, and it keeps prius from going under. Why does it bother you?

If you leave it in because you tow frequently, I understand. Your fuel bills must be high, the combo of lost aerodynamics and a trailer..

I'm referring to the guys who have lifted trucks and no toys to tow... Buy a big tall truck and it must need a big tall hitch to carry around on the back! A few of them live on my street, and with the Wisconsin salt they're all rusted permanently into the receiver now anyway. Couldn't remove them if they wanted to.

I wish I had the spreadsheet from my V10 still. That bitch was a solid 9.2 mpg across the board.

The Hemi is much better...and my stainless drop hitch and ball is under the back seat where it belongs!

I should have said, "My appropriately sized drop hitch, is under the back seat where it belongs".

My wife and co-workers kept walking into mine so I got in the habit of removing it when not in use.

I used to leave my 12” drop in my dually at all times because it saved me backing into things on numerous occasions.

I'd get better mileage if I didn't love the sound of that Hemi as much as I do!

I don't pay for my fuel either so there's not much incentive to be conservative other than avoiding speeding tickets. :)

Meanwhile, in my world:

Visit supermarket-branded service station co-located with Costco (so they price match).

Fill up car that's had the fuel warning light on for last 3 days. Also fill 5 gallon container in car.

Scour shop in service station looking for discounted items on which to spend $5 which will give me a 4 cent a litre discount.

Pay at counter using 4 cent a litre discount coupon retrieved from another shopper's trolley as I don't actually shop at this supermarket chain.

Drive off surrounded by a aura of smugness knowing I've just saved $15 by not buying at the service station just down the road.
