We might still get some wind later on in the night so I will bring the plants indoors. The windows will stay open all night though, love to sleep when it's raining outside.

True, but I get so angry when the news channels just keep hyping things up for ratings (infuriates me)! I halfway listen to anything they say in the beginning anyhow, but at least they aren't carrying on then like they always do toward the endings. Makes me want to shoot them all! :grumble:

Vent out, I love the storms directly before the rains come...when it is simply ominous looking, warm, wicked windy along with thunder and lightening! I like the energy! :woot:

The news is no longer The News. It's an entertainment show looking for stories where there are none.
Still, the general public buy into the hype and Home Depot had plywood flying off the shelves today. Funny as hell.

I remember a few years ago we were sitting in a bar watching the storm coverage, situation on TV looked quite severe with dark skies and hard rain.
Just so happened that they (the news) were taping right outside the bar so we went out and saw a slight drizzle and the sun was shining.
Looked good on the TV.

I refuse to watch the news...totally refuse unless it is an e.r. Matter of fact, I watch very little tv (documentaries only usually), but that is probably because I have been abused! :soapbox:

lol

Weather "people" (in front of the camera) make me ill. My step-brother was one for around a decade, and he made me ill as well, especially when he went to more of a limelight position interviewing hollywood "STARS" etc. SO MUCH EGO in that field...but I think that is just most men in general when they get around each other (or a hot chick). (and the guys all wear makeup)!:dance:

Damn, im up here in Chicago waiting to get loaded. Cant get ahold of my dumb daughter so she can clear the backyard. Tuesday will be the day to watch.

i just texted Dre with an actual tornado warning for his area. If someone has a better method, by all means...wake his sweet butt up!

WTF are you doing texting tornado warnings at 2:40am. I hope he slept right through it. :twak:

Suzi, That tornado you worked, was it in February 98 in Osceola county? If so, I had just left my job as a firefighter for Osceola County on Jan 26th of 98. I was coming home from my gf's house at 5am and saw all the rescue’s and engines from different counties coming in. I ended up going straight to the firehouse and working it for the next 4 days. I believe 16 people died in the Ponderosa trailer park.

house..... flooded.... roofffff.... caving....... drowning...... send.... help....

fay.... horrrrrible..... aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

It was 3'-4' perfect glass yesterday at Monster Hole. Had the whole place to myself for about 3 hours in the morning. Then some couchers came out to play at about 11:00. They left after about an hour then I had the place to myself and a friend for another couple of hours.

Hopefully there will be waves this coming weekend.

Scott

I guess none of the other REAL freeriders showed up, huh?

:headbang::usa2: (oh wait, you're not a citizen yet are you)

I'm not really too worried about you dear...I thought about how strong you must be to have swam that far over here without any arm floats. :moon:

No sir. Not in this state. I've never forgotten you served either. :purr:

Tornado hits are more brutal than hurricanes imo. Little warning. Serious wind destruction. Hurricanes are simply bigger so they get more attention for widespread destruction.

As for the time of the call...irrelevant. Sleeping is how most people get pinned to their beds with big tree branches piercing their bodies. Big difference between a watch and a warning (plus I was looking at the actual cell's rotation). Take the warnings seriously.

I was afraid of this. People are getting injured because it hasn't been "deemed" a "hurricane". 30 homes wiped out by one tornado in Brevard County...other injuries...93,000 people w/o power throughout Florida. Winds have actually increased interestingly enough.

Junkies are gonna get our surf I bet! :ugh2:

that dude has mad skills yo!

(THAT, lol, was sooooooo bad!!!!! :sgrin:) Let's hope he comes out of critical ok. I'm sure Scott will have some fine input on it whenever he gets in here (if).

Quick Tuttie: Grab the Dalmation and run for the cellar...those first tornado prone bands are about to hit us!!! :cheer:

That was in Barefoot Bay about 10 miles north of Sebastian Inlet and about 10-15 miles from Fl-Cracker (Bronson). Thy say 9 of the homes are uninhabitable. This storm is gonna suck for the simple fact that we will get no "good" clean surf from it unless it gets offshore. The way the models are looking, the Junkies should be getting a nice south swell coming up the coast. That kitemare is sick. He had to be doing at least 40 mph. Thinking he should of had a much smaller kite. Were getting a few nasty bands coming through now. Love to watch Mother Nature at work. I'm hoping a (big) tree will fall on my truck. :veryhappy:
