Electric powered beach Karts ?

Rather than a motorized cart, how about a motorized cart puller. Many beach carts have a hitch mount. Keep the electrical parts out of the water and you wouldn't have to waterproof them. Also one truck could pull multiple skis/carts.

I just looked ut up, they already make them. Not beach ready but you could build one similar.

Or put a winch on your trailer. I won't help getting the skis to the water but could pull them UP the beach which is the hard part.

it is in the back yard and semi functional as of now we never finished the steering, i will put up some pics. now the puller idea may be better suited for my project. where the bunks go could be a large cooler/ grill setup made from a 550 hull just for kicks

I like this idea better, pull a pin and it makes a sweet pit bike too. lol

One of these days I'm going to buy a Segway and pimp it out. This one has some pretty decent tires on it too. wonder how good it is in the sand?

Steering on a beachcart?

3 wheel cart w/ a 50cc motor and complete rear differential from a riding mower w/ reverse and 2 forward speeds. finger throtle on the bars and we were toying w/ a pin on seat to ride it around, just for kicks. the gearing made for a great power transfer.

the one i saw looked like more trouble then it was worth...it had an electric winch motor with a chain drive..it had a jetski battery for the power source..

^^^ since making that post above i went riding with the guy who has that electric tote...the thing worked great...it was fairly light and even when the motor wasnt turned on it rolled easily..all you had to do was hook up the battery and hit the button and it was effortless...worked killer..i want one for my waverunner for beach launching

You got a pic of the setup? That sounds perfect! Did he make it? I would never dunk the cart under water (so it doesnt need to be water proof), just to get the ski over the sand EASILY... to the water edge.

Shawn, that picture of a 50cc mini-trail motorized cart is from a few years back,a European custom. I got a kick seeing that because in the 70's I had a Honda mini-trail 50 with a CT70 motor on it. It ripped like 55 MPH down the beach at low tide. Major wheelie fun!

The sand here in NJ is really DEEP in places along the coast (check out some of the pix from the Jersey Rager). That's where a motorized cart would be a lifesaver. But, we have enough projects on the burner now...Spring is right around the corner :nana:

Stumbled across this on youtube. Does not look very lightweight, but it sure won't get stuck with tracks!
